Repeat runner for this event. The expo is quaint and the swag is great. There was a minor screw up the course but, it is the runner’s responsibility to know the course. The RD fixed the issue ASAP and offered a restart. The curse is beautiful and I will do this event again

I’ve run this event twice, both times overly impressed with the aid stations, the ample porta-potties and the amazingly supportive crowd. Gels were at two stations and volunteers were enthusiastic. The course was a beautiful road run with a few small hills. The medal is always outstanding for Best Damn race productions!

The course was beautiful even being wet. Very well mark, there was no way you could get lost. Good job, RD. The aid stations were actually just water stations. They were manned with unenthusiastic volunteers. Not a big deal in the whole scheme of life, but runners in the back of the pack usually need encouragement. Finishers receiver a very nicely designed mug. Group placers, 1st, 2nd and third, were awarded wood medals. Post-run food was typical run food. I was personally disappointed that awards were done while runners were still on the course. Once awards are given everyone leaves. For the difference of 15 minutes, (for the last runner) awards should have been held. Running is about finishing and supporting others on the course, this showed lack of sportsmanship. Every person on that course deserved respect and that was not apparent today.

This was a nice small race in Prince William National Park. The course was well supported with aid stations and the volunteers out on the course were great. The post-race food was typical, however, it was placed before the finishing line which made for a nice cheering section when you arrived at the mat. The only negative comment I have is there was not one porta-potty on the entire course. Some would and I am sure they will say, “nature is your bathroom.” That’s great for the men, not always the women.
I would run another event with this group due to its laid back approach and for the simple fact they give back to the community from every event they put on.

Nice two-loop course. Awesome course support. Very well organized. No parking issues at all and easy to leave the area once done. This was the first race I’ve run where you could choose an economy price. No shirt no medal. Sometimes you just have too many shirts. The medal where beautiful, so I’m seconding guessing not getting one. I would do this event again.

Very well marked and well supported trail run. Great medals and I was overly impressed that first second and third were acknowledged in the age groups. Runners were allowed to bring their 4 legged training partners, what a bonus for runners and the dogs. Parking was amazing and having to pay $5 to support the park was no issue. I’d do this run again.

A small, quaint late fall run on the Island of PEI. A beautifully supported point to point course, finishing you in downtown. Your family has many opportunities to cheer you on, even though the roads are closed. There are three challenging hills at the end, so don’t forget your hill training. The medal is so,so. Pressed for time to check out of our airbnb, we did not stop for the post race food. With the unpredictable weather, I’m not sure I would do this event again in Oct.

Small local run. Great hilly course. It’s a perfect end of season event in the Ottawa region. It’s not cold or hot, I usually dress in layers and by fist 1km, the layers are off. Parking cost, but it’s for a good cause. A must-do if you are in the area. The medals are ok, we don’t all run for the bling. ( well not every race anyway)

A beautiful race! Great parking, well organized and great course support. Post food was typical run food but to sit on the water and eat was a treat. They also had the local chiropractor giving every runner a free stretch after their event. Not only did they recognize top 3 male/ female, they announced all age group winners. Though this race states there is a cut off, they did not pull the last two runners from the course. Instead, they encouraged the runners to cheer them on. If I was to make one less than positive comment, it would be the 8 am start. I personally like early starts. I would do this run again.

This was a beautiful but hard course. It’s a 3 loop course, all loops were different. It was discouraging to have very little direction to the next loop when you went over the timing mat. I don’t recall being notified that there was no water stations on the loops. Post food was dry and not appealing at all. There was no finishers medal, so, if that’s your thing not an event for you.

I did this run with my partner for his first half. You had the option of picking up your kit the day before at a set time or the morning of. The day before option is always nice, however, having to book a time when you are traveling from out of town seemed weird. When we arrived early, they did allow us to pick up outside our booked time. The course was flat, the scenery was beautiful and the aid stations were great!!! The half started at 8:30, for me this is just too late in the summer months. I would probably not do this event again due to the late start time.
