Best Damn Race® is a running series created for runners by runners. Our goal is to provide a big race experience at a local race price. It doesn’t matter if you are an elite runner, first timer, walker, or using a baby jogger, we want you to have the best DAMN race experience.
The Half Marathon will start in front of the beautiful Safety Harbor Resort & Spa and head north along the water on Bayshore Bouelvard. You will then run over to Philippe Parkway and head north until you enter Philippe Park. Enjoy a small incline and decline in and out of the shady and tree lined park as you head south back though Safety Harbor. You will then have a quick run through Clearwater with a view of Old Tampa Bay all the way back to the finish at the Safety Harbor Marina. This course has a few small inclines and declines but is still fast and a great opportunity for a PR!
The 10K will start in front of the beautiful Safety Harbor Resort & Spa and head north along the water on Bayshore Bouelvard. You will run over to Philippe Parkway for quick out and back before heading south on Bayshore Boulevard into Clearwater FL. With a few small inclines and declines this course will be fast and have great views of Old Tampa Bay.

Our unique registration process allows all participants the opportunity to register for low prices on a first come, first served basis. This gives all athletes an opportunity to race regardless of income level. For example, our 5K starts out with the price of $15 and stays at that price for the first 200 who register. Why pay $75 for a 5K when you can run the Best Damn 5K for as little as $15 or as much as $40?
Amenities & Bling! Our philosophy is “RUN, EAT, DRINK, PARTY”. We pride ourselves on spoiling our athletes. Every race entry includes: race shirt, finisher medal, bib, goodie bag, free food, free beer, free massage (based on volunteers availability at expo).
It doesn’t matter if it was your first 5K or your 10th Half Marathon, post race is a celebration of you and your fellow athletes!

WHAT AN EVENT!!!!! The packet pickup at Dicks Sporting Good was very busy and the volunteers were very helpful. Race day was beautiful by the water, just a bit breezy and cold to be in FL. The route started on the road, then we travelled thru two parks, and past some very beautiful homes, the water view was amazing and we even went past “Alligator Lake”, the finish line was on full party mode, plenty of vendors and after race snacks.

The course was a beautiful road run with a few small hills. The medal is always outstanding for Best Damn race productions!

I came down from NY to run this race. The expo and post-race celebration was great–which made up for a meh swag bag. LOTS of food, vendors, beer, massages–it was great. I cut 10 minutes off my PR on this course! It is mostly flat with some verrrrry slight up and downhill. I would NOT call this course “hilly.” We had some “cooler” Florida weather which ended up being perfect race weather (for a New Yorker). The race started at 7:15AM so I think even if it was hotter, the early start time would have made up for that. THE MEDAL IS AMAZING! This was a great race–very well put together. I would definitely come back down next year and do it again, or do a different BDR location.
