Welcome to the Niagara Falls Marathon, the beating heart of Niagara’s running scene! As a passionate not-for-profit organization, we’ve crafted an extraordinary running experience for all. With a diverse history, our events offer an iconic world class view of Niagara Falls and breathtaking scenery along the Niagara River. Each race reflects our commitment to fun, community, and competition. Steeped in history since 1974, we’ve seen Olympic trials and revival in 1998 under Casino Niagara sponsorship. Join us in shaping the future of Niagara running where every stride is a celebration of our vibrant community!
All race events will take place entirely within Canada. The 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon will all start along Fallsview Boulevard before heading down Murray Street, passing the Skylon Tower, and continuing directly toward Niagara Falls. Runners will see—and hear—the thunderous roar of the American Falls straight ahead before turning right onto the Niagara Parkway, where the iconic Horseshoe Falls will come into full view. This section of the course offers some of the most breathtaking scenery found on any racecourse in the world. From there, the route follows the Niagara Parkway past Rapidsview Park, through Kingsbridge, and over the bridge in Chippawa. Each race distance will turn around along the flat, scenic Niagara Parkway, running directly beside the Niagara River. The finish line for all races will now be located on Stanley Avenue, directly in front of the Niagara Falls Convention Centre.

The updated course post-covid is now entirely self-contained on the Canada side of the falls, starting and ending in the Rapidsview Park area. Packet pickup was outdoors at the park, easy, but fairly barebones. Technical t-shirt was nice. Parking and getting to the race takes more time than anticipated, so leave early and be prepared to walk a good distance to the starting line.
The 2025 race ran northward towards the falls, then doubled back to run parallel to the river along the parkway. The first 5k portion had incredible views of the river, rapids and falls, the city skyline, and power plant. Crowd support during this stretch was also great, with a lot of spectators near the falls. The rest of the course was quieter along the river, but flat and with few turns. The 2026 course appears to be different with more hills, so my course review may no longer be accurate.

You can stay within walking distance. Parking was ok. But many waited too late to go. There was also an issue with a draw bridge so they delayed the race 10 minutes. There were enough porta potties due to the staggered starts. Packet pickup was ok, parking was $4 at the hotel and the ‘expo’ was small.
Course is super flat and closed course making it easy. Volunteers and aid stations were smooth. Metal was nice, shirt ok and post race food adequate. Highly recommend.

The course runs along the river. It is beautiful to pass by the water and see the trees. They change color at the time of year the race happens to be, which makes it wondrous. It is a quiet race until you get to the falls where there is the loud water and some spectators at the finish line. Horseshoe falls is powerful and leaves you in awe. This year, the weather was fabulous of blue skies, no head wind and sunshine. There are also fun things to do in the area during your stay after or before the race.

Tje course is beautiful and the race very different. You get transported to Biffalo to start the race, it starts late at 19am. Crossing the border bridge into Canada is exilarating, then is when our race started running by the lake with a strong wind on our face most of the time. It wasnt the right day for a personal best so may best enjoyed it. The organization along the course is great and the finish line amazing

This race was smaller than I thought it would be. I was expecting more people to be running in it, that was probably a good thing though. The expo was very small. Getting to the start of the half was easy because of the buses. No food at the start of the half marathon. The course is easy and very flat. Being from Florida the weather was perfect for me, 75 degrees at the start. This is a good race if you are looking for a nice vacation with a race involved.

I participated in the 5k, race kit pick up was very disappointing, there was 0 swag, and they only gave out 2 safety pins, on a windy day having a bib flapping around is very annoying.
How can you not budget having enough safety pins knowing how many people registered for the race?
The finishing tent was a disappointment, there was beer advertised but when I finished there was nothing in the tent.
And here’s where this race completely lost me as a future participant, my husband was in the half and had an injury at the 6km marker, he made it to the nearest water/aid station and they said there was nothing they could do. I was already at the finish line since I did the 5k, I talked to the paramedics and they said they would not be able to go out there, and that he should UBER it or taxi it back! I don’t know who races with a credit card or money to pay for a taxi! So from the finish I had to go pick up my car and drive out 16km to pick him up.
There were emails from race organizers saying if you had to drop out that they’d send a wagon, but this was clearly incorrect info!
Highly recommend this race

I really enjoyed this race. It was well organized and there was a good number of runners – not crowded but still enough runners to feel that race energy. The course was beautiful as you run along the Niagara River and run along the falls. Residents of the area came out to cheer. I expect I’ll be doing this one again.

Race pick up kits: disappointing to have to pay for parking at Scotia Bank Convention Center and lack of swag VERY disappointing. Had a first ever half marathoner with me. Water stations great, scenery awesome, volunteers amazing. After race there was nowhere to stretch, over-crowded with tourists. Medals are cheesy. I have run races where the medals are lovely necklaces, wine stopper, something useful that won’t end up in the garbage.

Breakfast run was fun, shuttles and expo very organized, AMAZING volunteers. This race isn’t for me. The scenery got very boring with very few turns and zero crowd support. Very lonely. Aid stations were few and far between (especially on a very humid day) and they served VERY watered down Nuun. I drink Nuun at home so I know what it’s supposed to rate like. The late start makes for a hot race which isn’t for me. The crossing into Canada was very lack-luster. If you are looking for a flat straight course, ok with minimal water and don’t need crowd support this is for you. If you need to be stimulated, Ned crowd support and like to stay hydrated skip it.

The course scenery was amazing!! That by itself makes it completely worth every penny and every km ran/walked. With that said, everything else was also amazing. The organization rocked, everything seemed to be running smoothly: registration, date ,change, packet pickup, the expo, the volunteers, the shuttles, etc. I loved it! The course was perfectly marked and water stations were perfectly spaced. The finish area was great, too. I even got a free massage! Loved everything about this race and will probably do it again.

This was my first marathon. The course was beautiful and scenic. They give a 6 hour time limit, however if you’re slower (like me), there may not be water at all the water stations by the time you get there. One of the stations at around mile 18 or so had the electrolyte drink but no water. Running in 3 countries was very cool and volunteers were all nice and very energetic. I don’t like many runners around on a course so this was a great race for that. Not crowded so you won’t be dodging people. However, if you’re someone who needs crowds cheering through your the race, this marathon isn’t for you. There were many miles where there were just a few runners around. The finish is downhill!! And I loved how, at the finish, the announcer announced the name of each runner crossing the finish line. That was special, especially this being my first marathon. And you finish at the falls! I’d recommend as long as you can be ok being kinda on your own at points!

This is one of the flatest races I’ve done so it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a PB. The route is beautiful – I found the scenery distracted me from the distance. There isn’t much crowd support at the beginning, but by the time you finish there’ll be lots of people cheering you along. I’m already signed up to do this race again.
