The run courses highlight the beauty of downtown St. Pete and its surrounding Historic Neighborhoods and Colorful Murals. Enjoy the Scenic Waterfront and spot the birds, pelicans, and dolphins that call it home.
The nationally recognized 13.1 mile course highlights all that is spectacular about St. Pete! Run through the heart of downtown St. Pete, with its many unique urban districts, then along the scenic waterfront through historic neighborhoods.
Your run starts on Bayshore Drive next to the world-renowned Salvador Dali Museum, overlooking the waters of Tampa Bay. From there head up 1st Avenue South past the USFSP campus. Then take a tour through the Grand Central District, EDGE District, The Deuces, and Warehouse Arts District as you head back on Central Avenue, with its unique shops and restaurants.
Once back on the scenic waterfront, run through the historic Old Northeast and Snell Isle neighborhoods, before a photo finish on Bayshore Drive next to the Mahaffey Theater Plaza.

I am a local, and this is one of my favorite weekends. The 10K and 5K are held back to back on Saturday morning, with the half marathon run on Sunday morning. If you do all three, it’s considered the Tortuga triple with a bonus metal. Top notch, swag! The medals are beautiful. The swag changed this year from separate T-shirts for each event to one premium bamboo, long sleeve hoodie. I was truly not a fan of the hoodie. I usually love them, but this bamboo one felt flimsy and the decoration/logo were minuscule. Just my opinion. You also receive a beautiful thermos for each event.
The course winds through downtown St Pete and through some artsy neighborhoods before winding back to the waterfront. It’s just a wonderful scenic, relaxing race to me. I just love this one! The 10 and 5k are shorter versions of the half marathon.
There’s some great booths set up outside of packet pick up on both days, and if you do multiple races, you’re eligible for the VIP tent, which has its own separate food and drink area. This is worthwhile because these races can be quite crowded with long lines for food and drink afterwards.
This weekend with 3 events is a great way to see downtown St Pete. And if you’d like to see downtown Tampa and its riverfront, Gasparilla weekend in February is equally as rewarding, with four total events on beautiful Bayshore Blvd.
Love the downtown St Pete races!

The 10K is run along with the 5K on Saturday of race weekend, with a half marathon on Sunday. I’ve done a more in-depth review for the half marathon, but in general, these races are top-notch, awesome swag, including the T-shirt and thermos, excellent food and beer afterwards, and a wonderful route through the downtown Saint Pete area. One of my favorite race weekends as a local, and it could be yours as well!

This race is SO much fun and they celebrated EVERY single runner. The whole weekend is full of family friendly events and the city of St. Pete Florida really shows up to contribute to the spirit of the event. There’s a tailgate zone for local run clubs. The race expo and post race party are epic and feature local cuisine and beer. The course was so lovely, epic view and well facilitated. It was just so so so much fun. The race announcers for this made a huge impact on me personally. I can not say enough good things about this race. The swag is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s the prettiest medal. It’s an easy course for those trying to get a solid time. The race collaborates with other major races in the area for some fun challenges, such as Gasparilla in Tampa, FL (just across the bay).

I’ve run this race every year but once since it started in 2017. And the only reason I missed one year is because I was running a marathon. This race is top notch. You can tell they have the city’s support. It’s a PR course for sure. The venue is beautiful on the water. No hills, other than a tiny incline around mile 9. Nice outdoor Expo with enough vendors. Several tents for run clubs. The swag is some of the best ever: tumbler, soft bamboo shirt, seat cover. Lots of food options: pizza, pasta, Acai bowl, fresh fruit, beer, bloody mary bar, Kombucha and more. Plus food trucks if you want to purchase something. Largest massage area I’ve ever seen. Relaxation areas to sit, lively DJ and stage area. I can’t say enough about how much I love this race! Weather can be “iffy” as it is Florida. So I’ve run it when it’s been 50 degrees and 80 degrees. This year it started in the 60s and got into the 70s, so never got really bad, and humidity was low. Highly recommend.

Amazing celebrations after you finish ( the whole course is a party). Cold plunges, vendors, live music, dog races, kid races, drag queens , break dancers. It really was the most memorable race and cannot wait to be there again!! If you’re nervous about a race.. don’t!!! This is the perfect race for all runners and walkers!!!

Rollin Oats is a must stop at this expo or at their location. Nice easy course with light entertainment along the area with amazing spectators! The locals definitely come out to celebrate and the volunteers are EPIC! there were cold plunges, music, and local breweries as well as amazing food. This race weekend just keeps getting better!

I run this race every year. Mostly do the 10K with friends as a fun run (stopping for Jell-O shots, mimosas, pickles, etc) but have ran the HM and 5K once each as well. 5K and 10K very easy, flat, PR courses. HM has a few tiiiiny hills but still overall easy course. You run through the city as well as along the water. After party is unmatched!

St Pete Runfest is the best racing weekend ever!!!! The team at St Pete Runfest really believes in the product they put out. I’ve gotten to Ryan, Michele and Nadia over the past few years and they are truly amazing humans. The races are always VERY organized, very well supported and just a whole LOT of fun. I’ve only run the 1/2 marathon (5 times) but there is something for everyone, from the kiddos to the elite racer!
I talk a lot about this race to A LOT of people. Its the 1 race that is always on my calendar each year (non-negotiable). I’ve run may races in many different states and SPRF is hands down the best best race I have ever entered.
If you have not run this race, DO IT. If you are on the fence, DO IT. Or if you are just looking for an amazing racing weekend, you guessed it…DO IT!!!!

If you like the hometown feel of a small race but enjoy the hype of a big city race, this event has both! If you are lucky enough to register early and get a discounted hotel room with one of their partners, it is even better. I come from Ohio every year. They have an excellent after-party – probably one of the best ever with delicious food, beer and fun photo opportunities . The shirts are nice v-necks for women, plenty of swag and awesome medals. I especially like the Tortuga Triple Challenge which is a combo of 5k, 10K and Half then you get an extra medal. The course is flat and interesting through the streets of St Pete and you get to run on the pier. Walk to and from the start line from your hotel and be stress free. No long bus shuttles or fighting for parking. The folks at St Pete Run Fest know what they are doing when it comes to creating a great event.

Flat race that starts in downtown Petersburg. Course was well supported with ample water stops, volunteers, and police officers assisting with street closure. After you run through the city, you head to the restaurants area where businesses were out offering drinks and coffee. You then ran to the waterfront. Post-race feast was the best, (chicken and rice, pizza, baked salmon and kale salad, fruits), also vendors was out selling stuff. Defiantly was a party type affair after the race. Medal and water bottle were given out at the finish line. Highly recommended this race and I will travel to run it again, so much fun.
