Run in one of America’s top resort communities. Hidden away among an intricate maze of rivers, islands and maritime forests, the Palmetto Bluff Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K are flat, fast and chip-timed races. As the largest waterfront property on the East Coast, Palmetto Bluff is evolving as a community and conservation preserve with over 20,000 acres that remain virtually undisturbed.
The Palmetto Bluff Marathon course is USATF-certified and a Boston Marathon Qualifier, the Half Marathon course is USATF Certified, and the 10K course is stroller friendly. Each course winds throughout the beautiful Lowcountry community of Palmetto Bluff and is a complete loop. Race shirts are guaranteed to the first 750 registrants and beautiful medals are awarded to all marathon and half marathon finishers.

If it weren’t for the heat, and the late start, I would have loved this race. The location of the race was absolutely stunning. The grounds at Palmetto Bluffton (which we also stayed at for a few days) was just an absolutely stunning southern living experience.
Race volunteers and course markers were good, but nothing over the top, as the place is a natural conservancy so there isn’t much they can do that is over the top without taking away from the beauty of the course.
Course is flat and not that shaded, so if the sun is out (like it was on race day), it is going to be a HOT ONE OUT!
