A beautiful ‘fall colours’ setting – bring your camera long for the run to capture the rich colours along the course!
The setting for the Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon runs, is the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum in Ottawa. It is a turn-of-the-century village with all the trappings we need to make this Thanksgiving extravaganza one with a Canadian heritage flavour. It’s right here in Ottawa, but in a country setting among farms and rural estate homes. The elements of the classic big city marathons will be there, with an intimate humble, country Thanksgiving flavour.
A Thanksgiving family-fun tradition with ‘something for everyone’ with the Turkey Trot for the ‘little ones’ to the full marathon for those wanting to earn that extra piece of pumpkin pie – heck, you can have the WHOLE pie!
The Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon and Ottawa Fall Colours Half Marathon courses are certified by Athletics Canada, and Run Canada and are considered official distance events. The courses were measured by Dave Yaeger, and certified by Bernie Conway, National Course Certifier, IAAF Grade A Measurer, and USATF/RRTC Final Signatory.
This certification along with the ChampionChip Timing provided by Sportstats, means that the Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon may be used as a “Qualifier for the Boston Marathon”, and the New York City Marathon and Half Marathon. Qualification is automatic if the Qualifying standards are met during this race. The courses are out and back for the half marathon, and a double out and back course for the marathon.

Small local run. Great hilly course. It’s a perfect end of season event in the Ottawa region. It’s not cold or hot, I usually dress in layers and by fist 1km, the layers are off. Parking cost, but it’s for a good cause. A must-do if you are in the area. The medals are ok, we don’t all run for the bling. ( well not every race anyway)
