I didn’t plunge this year, only ran. It was at a different lake this year, kind of nice to have a different place to run. It’s always fun to be challenged running in Minnesota in the winter. The course was in pretty good condition so was able to keep my speed somewhat decent, didn’t have a ton of ice to slide across. The shirt was nice but very large, the smallest was huge. There was a medal this year, which a nice plus. There was not much in snacks after and it was a little confusing where we could go after. We realized we were in a tent for plungers and certain company teams only and should not have been there.

This would have been a beautiful race but who would think it would be one of the rainiest races I have ever run and it was in California! It was kind of miserable but I love a challenge. Despite the awful weather the race went smoothly. The medal was nice and there were a lot of post race snacks. My shirt size was on back order but once it was mailed to me I loved it, very nice tank top. This truly is a beautiful course and really want to do it again without rain whipping in my face.

I did the 3 way Challenge with extra cheese and boy it was a challenge! All of the courses involved hills but the half had the longest hill I have ever climbed in a race but the view at the top was amazing. I love that the course takes us into Kentucky and we cross many bridges over the Ohio River. This was such a fun weekend, the crowd support during the races are outstanding. The expo was top notch so much and a lot of freebies. With doing the challenge there was a lot of swag and I ended up with 5 medals. The After Party area and activities were awesome. Cincinnati is so picturesque and with so much to do we wished we had more time to explore. So yes, I am thinking about doing this again even though it did darn near eat me alive – ha! Would I do the challenge again? Not sure about that but if you are trying to decide I recommend you do it – the post race(s) high is immense!

The is the “Extra Cheese” as part of the Flying 3 Way Challenge. After a 10 hour drive straight thru from Minnesota to Cincinnati this was a really great way to loosen up and get excited for the whole weekend. The course was lined with spectators cheering us on adding to the excitement. And two free beers at the finish line was a great way to loosen up too! Ha! A fantastic introduction to the entire weekend.

I have always enjoyed this race along the Mississippi River and thru the U of M campus and especially ending at the stadium, running onto the field is so much fun and energizing. Production is great, liked the shirt and the medal and lots of snacks at the end. The course is difficult and I always forget the toughest hill is in the last mile or so. Talk about killer, but when you accomplish it and no the stadium is not much further it feels great.

This was a small town race, in a pretty little town. But my gosh the course has some brutal hills and to add to that it was brutally windy with 50 mph gusts. But all considering it was fun and they did a decent job. There were no snacks at the end and we really kind of needed them, we were depleted. The shirts were great long sleeve 1/4 zip bright yellow and a nice medal. There were also placement medals for the age groups and overall.

This was a fun smaller town race, but there were a lot of participants – made it a lot of fun! It was St Paddy’s theme and a very scenic course, some tough hills. There was no medal, but a nice long sleeve tech shirt and a pint glass with theme printing on it. Also free beer! Always a plus! There was also a one mile fun run prior to the 5k that we participated in too. A good warm up! There was some disorganization at packet pick up and a few crabby volunteers but it all worked out. It was fun spending some time at the festivities after the race too. A nice little town.

This was a fun race and dun to be united with all of the other crazy runners who run in sub zero weather! It was a hilly course, but scenic and what made it more challenging was snow and ice on the course, can’t get away from that in January in Minnesota. There was a bit of a snowstorm the day before so I was pleasantly surprised that the course was cleaned up better than expected. There was one water stop and the water was not frozen! The long sleeve tech shirt and medal were great. I would do this again and hope to improve my performance. I take it easy on the winter courses not knowing what to expect. But regardless it was a great way to enjoy January running!

This was a very small race/run, but always a great way to kick off the new year. Of course it is always cold in Minnesota in January but this day was extremely cold real temp – 9 and real feel in the negative 20s! The course is simple, twice around to make it slightly over a 5k, there are some hills to contend with and on this day against the sub zero wind. Finally this year there was a medal and a pretty one, very festive for the new year. You could pay extra to get an athletic bag as part of the swag if you needed more than the medal. Donuts at the end were delicious!! Since this is in my town I will do it again. But if you need more competition and/or swag this would not be the race for you.

This was a fun race to kick off the holiday season. Really enjoyed the course, very scenic and fun stops with candy and such. The swag was awesome, especially loved the polar bear hat! You could choose a santa, elf or Polar bear hat. There was also a fun holiday theme long sleeve shirt and medal according to what hat you chose. I really enjoyed this and would love to do it again.

I really enjoyed this race, perfect weather, easy to get to and awesome swag, long sleeve tech shirt, fleece blanket and hat. A bummer was no medals, they didn’t make it in time for the race, shipping issues. They said they would be shipped no cost to all participants which is great since I traveled to this. The post race party was fun, the pizza tasted great and beer pretty good. All took place on Browns Island with some great views of The James River. The course had some hills, was a little difficult at times but probably more so for me since I was dealing with major neck pain. So I’m not a very good judge of course difficulty, The course had some great scenery, the fall colors are prime in Virginia this time of year. I was wishing that a certain “spectator” with a very offensive sign and yelling an obvious term could be booted off the course, had to run by him twice. I just don’t understand people like that. But other than that and no medals on race day this was a great race and would like to do it again.

This race takes place on Harriet Island in St. Paul, I like the venue and it’s nice to have the pavilion to wait for the start as it was a pretty chilly morning. I’m not a huge fan of out and back courses but it is a scenic one for this race so I didn’t mind. There was a water stop with chocolate, which I prob would have appreciated more had I done the longer distance. This race happened last year too, one of few which I was so happy to do a live race! But because the numbers were so low last year they had many shirts leftover and repeated them for this year. They did give the option to choose another shirt from previous years if you did it last year and didn’t want the same shirt. I’ve done this race several times but I did find a shirt I didn’t have. So I was glad about that. They also repeated the medals. But they did have a different medal for those that already had the one from last year. The medals are super cute, looking like a box of chocolates, that actually opens to reveal “chocolates”. Last year’s was heart shape, different shape for us repeaters. The post race snacks of course included chocolate! Fun race – aside from repeat swag that worked out ok (who could blame them for using it up with the way the last year and a half has been) I recommend this race especially if you love chocolate!

I always enjoy this race in Minneapolis! The shirt and medal are cute Halloween themed, with the medal in the shape of the state of Minnesota. It’s a very festive vibe with most all in costume. There is a convenient bag check which I appreciate as the races are getting cooler this time of year and a warm dry sweatshirt waiting for me at the finish is nice. There were plenty of snacks at the finish and picture taking opportunities. The course is medium difficulty, some hills and running on cobblestone for a bit is a challenge to not trip, at least for me! Running across the stone arch bridge close to the finish is always so beautiful. A fun race I highly recommend.

This a smaller race in Long Lake, MN and it is so fun! My friend and I Decided to make it even more fun with hobby horses, which is a choice. While it is challenging to hang on to a hobby horse while running it was just fun to do something different and be silly. The course is beautiful and it was a cool, crisp and sunny fall day adding to the great scenery. The after party is above and beyond, with delicious food: corn on the cob, pancakes, sausage, etc. along with the usual post race snacks. Our swag was a blanket this year that looks really nice but because of shipping issues they did not have yet. (And as of November still do not have) There was no medal for the 5k which is a bummer, the first year I did this two years ago there was a 5k medal. So that would be my one complaint. We just like our medals! I hope to get the blanket soon, it will be a trek back to Long lake to get it from where I live but it’s a beautiful little town to visit, so will make due.

It always amazes me how well they pull off this race – it’s huge with both the 10 miler and full marathon on the same day. I enjoy the course although the hills can be challenging and also Summit Avenue, my gosh the city needs to do something about that road. It’s in terrible condition and saw several runners take a tumble on the bumps and cracks. So it is a bit hazardous. But after surviving that stretch soon comes the awesome downhill finish to the State Capitol, always so glad to see! Great race and great fall weather in Minnesota is a must to experience.

This was a super fun race, well supported along the whole course. A lot of music, bands and cheering people. The course was pretty flat, some hills. Some great scenery. The Medals are nice, I did the Go Far Challenge with the 5k the nigh before, so 3 medals in all. Can’t comment on the shirts because we did not get them yet. Shipping issues with their supplier. Disappointing but beyond the race organizers control. They are mailing them to us free of charge when they arrive. I would do this again!

This was an ok race, 5k the night before the Half Marathon. The least desirable part of it was running by an area with an overwhelming manure smell. It was near the University, NDSU, which is a big agriculture school so not surprising, it was just hard to take when breathing hard anyway. But it was fun despite that and not feeling well. The course was a little longer than a 5k. The medal was nice but can’t comment on the shirt because because of shipping delays we did not get our shirts yet. This was supposed to be a Glow type run, but it was not dark enough yet at 6:00, they needed to push it back to appreciate the glow in the dark shirts, wrist bands and the flashing lanyards on the medals at the end. But it was still fun. It was very hilly, didn’t realize how hilly it was around the Vikings Practice facility and stadium. But such a relief and thrill to finish on the practice field with the jumbotron going as we crossed the finish line.

Beautiful Race! I really enjoyed it. Next year I hope to do the Half marathon and see more of Rochester which was the next day, so both races can be done. The medal was awesome – a flag, so appropriate for a 9/11 race. The hoodie shirt is really nice, great quality.

It figures during one of the worse droughts in Minnesota since 1988 it rains on race day. After being delayed an hour All distances were changed to a 5k because of possible storming. It never really did storm until much later in the day. All distances could have happened but I understand they needed to be safe. The communication that all distances were changed was right down to the wire of when the first race was supposed to start. Many distances were supposed to start much later so those that hadn’t arrived yet didn’t know that the distance and time changed to all start at the same time. So that was a little rough. I never saw that an email or post on FB was sent out about this change. They sent out a notification when everything was delayed an hour which was about 3 am. So yea, disappointing but still got to run and luckily the medals were general and not distance specific. I liked the nice bright shirt! And seriously was grateful for the rain.

This was an extremely hot day this year and warnings were posted, not only the heat but the air quality was bad. They offered free distance switches if people felt they should downgrade, which was nice. There could have been a few more water stops but it was still pretty adequate. The medal was great and shirt very nice, really sharp looking. There are a lot of races held at this location in St Paul, it’s not a favorite. It’s a pretty tough out and back course. But with all of the energy and cheering a long the course it makes it enjoyable. With the heat and tough course it felt like quite an accomplishment to finish 10 miles! I would do this again.

I was visiting San Diego helping my daughter move there from Minnesota over the 4th of July and found this race to do. I am so glad I did! Beautiful location on Coronado Island, perfect weather and opted to take the ferry to the island. They offered tickets for this and it was a fun experience. The course was great and the start line so much fun running under a giant American flag stretched across the start line. Loved the medal, not so much the shirt. Strange neckline for a summer race in Cali. Packet Pick up was kind of a hassle being an out of towner, I could have waited until day of but wanted to purchase the ferry ticket so had to go the day before. But all in all I will consider this race again if I am visiting in July again.

As usual and awesome race and absolutely perfect weather. It was just so great to do the race live this year I don’t think anything would seem bad except I did it on a bum knee (injury from a race in May). But this race is organized so well and is so beautiful. Support along the course is great and the finish area very well organized with a lot of goodies/freebies. The After party was located at the Bayfront Festival area which I liked to get away from the Finish area, less crowded and could spread out more and find a place to sit, plus it is right by Lake Superior. The shirt was ok, the colors were interesting this year, not my favorite but I still liked it and the medal. Do this race if you haven’t yet! It should be a bucket list race!

The race was great, but hilly and lots of “bumps” in the road. One got me, my foot hit I tripped and face plant on the paved trail. So mad at myself, although a tough course it was going really well and beautiful. I did finish the race but the last 5 1/2 miles had to be walked and 7 stitches on my forehead and a bruised knee was my reward. Ha! The medal was huge – just a bit too much but still fun to earn. The shirts ran really big which was too bad because it was a tech shirt, I like those to fit. But small was as small as I could go. I do hope to do this race again and not slam my face into the pavement. I recommend!

This is a fun race and there’s a free beer! Always a plus! The course was a lot hillier than I remembered from 2 years ago and it was an unusually hot day in Minnesota on May 1st. So, not acclimated yet to summer running suffered a bit. No medal but a fun shirt! And a lot of prizes and age group and overall awards.

I highly recommend this race. It is a great race, the scenery is awesome and this year the weather was perfect. Of course this year there was not the usual after race events and free beer because of COVID but it still was just so great to do a live race! The shirt and medal are great and there were things for sale with some bonus deals. The wave start line went well, swift and smooth.

This was a fun inaugural event, TCM is putting on smaller events with less numbers and waves to be safe during this challenging time. It was windy but a beautiful day and they did great keeping the flow. The shirt was a nice long sleeve tech type shirt with keeping in the theme of Shamrock and a Shamrock medal. It was chip timed, but there were no overall awards. I enjoyed it and may do more of these, they have several more planned.

The course was a straight shot but oh my the hills! However for every uphill there was a downhill! Ha! The production went well adhering to the safety and well being of everyone. The wave starts went quickly. The swag was a choice of many cute winter hats and gloves. You could be shuttled back to your car but many of us ran it back making a nice 5 mile run. This is the second year of the race, second time I have participated. It changed to a 2 miler due to the pandemic and the city saying it could only be a 2 mile route. I am not sure why? It covered the same area just didn’t repeat a portion? It was still fun with all of the ghouls and goblins and such lining the course. The swag was an awesome jacket and plenty of snacks to pick up along with the jacket prior to the race. Wave starts went thru out the night to reduce the amount of people together at one time and of course all were required to wear masks up until the race start. It went well and was happy to do an in person race .

This was the 2nd race of the day, having chosen to do the Hoot N Holler Challenge. The course was basically the second half of the 7 mile run. I normally never like repeating a course in the same race, but being a trail race wasn’t so bad. Far more interesting than repeating a road race. I had a lot of fun, there were more people for this distance and more costumes. As in the 7 miler finisher awards were made from downed tree woods on the farm. I placed 3rd over all in the Women’s Division receiving another wooden award.

A great challenging little race. There are quite a few hills and going down almost seemed more challenging due to the fact we had a lot of snow a week before this. So a bit slippery! But it was so fun and a beautiful area. Many wore costumes to make it more fun. The finisher awards are made out of wood from downed trees in the area, really clever and a nice change from regular medals. You can buy shirts separately. Registration is very reasonable. And shirts are very reasonable as well. I would do this again! I did the challenge, so a 5k followed this race. It was exhausting to do both trail runs but loved it!

My friend and I were excited to do a live race, so we were happy with anything. But this was a gorgeous little race, perfect setting for a Fall race. It was a tough course, a lot of hills but it was so beautiful that I almost didn’t notice – Ha! The swag and goodies were awesome. They had everything bagged up including medal when we arrived. This was to have less contact. I was told the after events are a lot of fun during normal years and there is usually a festival to go along with it. So I am excited to do this again hopefully under more normal circumstances. My friend and I want to tackle the relay again. There was a glitch with timing due to the person assigning bibs not putting us in the relay category. But it was resolved and our time corrected for the most part.

My third time doing this race! A fun little race in Duluth. I was so happy it was live. They took precautions and did it well – we kept masks on until we started the race and started in waves spaced apart. There was a problem with many cutting the course short by accident. It was marked but not real clear at one point and no course marshal stopped the shortcutting everyone just followed the first person. Otherwise enjoyed, short and sweet, we ran and were told to go straight to our cars after, which was understandable. We received all of our swag including medal before the race start.

First off – It was a race in person that was not cancelled in 2020!! So it was awesome! I am not big on trail running, but this was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. However the Quarter Marathon ended up being 7.6 miles, mis-measured by a mile. The organizers soon realized as finishers came across expressing the same distance. They assume that when routing it they may have lost GPS at some point. It didn’t matter to me, I still enjoyed the 7 1/2 mile race! The route is challenging! Lots of steep hills and you do need to watch your footing. The “medal” is great, handmade wooden bar with the date and distance on it. Something different to display. Shirts are optional and separate to buy. I definitely want to do another race here, thinking about the fall one near Halloween. I recommend, especially for those who like trail running.

This was the last live race I did before everything shutdown due to the pandemic. Everything was canceled this weekend except for this small race, which we enjoyed to the fullest knowing what was beginning to happen. It was a fun little race, cool swag, everyone dressed in the spirit. In hindsight the venue for the race was way to small. And knowing what I know now, we should not have been packed into that small bar. Even without the precautions not being taken, it was too small. But otherwise it was a fun little race, scenic area and fun people.

This is my second year doing this, takes place before the Minneapolis Polar Plunge begins. It’s a Fun Run, no chip timing but they do have a clock up and it’s scenic run around Lake Bde Maka Ska. There is a lot going on with the plunge gearing up, a live band, beer tent and food trucks. The shirts are great and you can earn more gear by raising funds for Special Olympics. Great cause, good fun and a great way to warm up before taking the plunge if you want to participate in that!

Well where do I begin? This race is titled Eden Prairie but was moved quite abruptly to Maple Grove. The communication about this was poor, I did get an email but many did not. Those that did Like me saw that the time was going to noon. Well that changed to 9am with no communication but I saw it on the Facebook event. The course was ok, but I am never a fan of repeat courses – but it was a pretty area. Part of the swag was supposed to be a brunch at a restaurant about a mile away. When my group arrived the wait to be seated was over an 1 1/2 hours. We skipped but there was an option when registering to purchase tickets for the brunch for family or friends coming along. I would have been really mad had I purchased extra. There needs to be a better plan for this or skip this part and lower the price of registration. This was really disappointing to not have an ending celebration of some sort. There were no snacks at the end of the race so I was pretty starved when I got home. Still waiting on “official results” although there was no timing chip so it is gun start. My time recorded here is my watch time. The medal is very cute and I really like the hat. Probably will not do this one again unless they come up with a better plan or reduce the cost and skip brunch and all around more organization, better communication.

The race went well and I lucked out the second year in a row with a very mild Minnesota January day. But the race day is a lot, many distances and rather confusing for those doing longer distances with multiple mile markers. Also longer distances repeat a lot of the course which is kind of boring. The swag is great, love the vest and the medals are similar to last year but nice. I was glad my run buddy was on top of packet pick up because there were no email reminders about it. I got an email the day before the race. I like when a race send reminders a little further out.

You need to keep in mind that this race is in December in Minnesota. The weather and course conditions are never great. It is also very crowded, walkers do not abide by that they should start behind runners. So I remind myself it’s about the fun and festive season and should never pay the extra $5 for timing. If you are not a front runner it’s near impossible to get a good time unless you are really good at weaving in and out of walkers and groups stretched across the road on icy roads. It was fun though and most all dress up in the spirit of the season. The medal was cute, the shape of Minnesota as all of the MN run series race medals were this year. The long sleeve tech tee is nice but runs really big. The smallest women’s size was big on me. Coffee, hot chocolate, water and plenty of snacks at the finish were good.

This was a huge race! I was very impressed with the production. It was very chilly waiting but there was a lot going on to keep us moving and warmed up. This was my second half marathon of the weekend and was hoping they were correct in the description that it was mostly flat and downhill but not so much! I know I had tired legs but there was a lot of hills. But I still enjoyed it. There was a plenty of the usual snacks at the finish and supposedly a free beer somewhere but that was not readily available at the finish. I guess we had to go somewhere else to use our ticket but never figured that out, that was disappointing. The medal is huge and the long sleeve performance tee really nice with thumbholes. I would consider it again but have more states to hit right now 🙂

This was a great small town feel Race outside of Des Moines. I was hoping to really enjoy it and take advantage of the flat course but the paved trail was very icy unfortunately. But it was still fun and a beautiful area. The T-shirt is soft and a cute design, which matches the fun medal of a Hillbilly caricature. The Biscuits and Gravy or vegetarian soup was much welcomed at the finish line after a very chilly race and the Pie was the best! A lot of choices of pie! I might do this race again and hope for better conditions but I’m trying to do all states so it might have to wait.

I really loved that this race was in the evening. It could have been slightly later to set the mood, like 6:00, in the twilight. The course was two laps and fun with several themes and characters to “scare”. I am never fond of doing a course twice but it helped that there was the Halloween entertainment. The hoodie was great, Halloween theme, you also received a free drink coupon. Otherwise no medal. There was a photo booth for fun picture taking and several food trucks and other things going on in the area. You can make a whole evening of it with the Spooktacular events going on in the area. This was an inaugural race, I am sure they will make it even better next year, I would do it again.

It did not help I had been sick but the course killed me, it is extremely hilly. There were a lot of runners walking the course by the 4th – 5th mile. It is a scenic course, the weather was terrible but the leaves were at peak and quite lovely. I very much appreciated the cider at the end, tasted extra good. The shirt is pretty cheap, long sleeve, 3/4 zip, but see thru. The medal was cute and loved the mug! The weather was not great, a very early cold and windy wintery mix we had – but it did not sour the mood and fun of the race. It was a great area to hold a race and wished I had done the half to see more. The swag is awesome, very soft and quality flannel shirt. The medals are cute horse shoe shaped and three deep age group awards given (placed 2nd and received a cute horseshoe plaque. Then the food was fantastic, corn on the cob, pancakes and hot dogs at the finish line along with other snacks. I can’t properly rate the difficulty of the course because it all seemed difficult in the sleet and wind, plus fighting a head cold. But for the 5k there were some hills. I will do this again and probably the half marathon distance.

This was the only race that could be ran for the Loony challenge. The day was great, chilly start, some crazy long hills but a fun route with a lot of crowd support. It was disappointing to not be able to do the full loony challenge because the first day was cancelled due to rain. But regardless the swag was very disappointing considering what we paid for the challenge. The additional swag was an insulated mug, years past it has been a jacket. And for the 10 and 5k race whether it happened or not there was one medal, one shirt, nothing exclusive for each of the races. Kind of cheap! I probably will not attempt the Loony challenge again unless I really need to do it all. Give me some time to figure that out, but I have a lot of other challenges I have done and am doing, so it’s not knowing I can do it, it’s just the TC Loony!

Well done inaugural race! Beautiful location around Sloan lake with the mountain view in the distance. The course I’m sure was easy for some but the altitude kicked my butt being from Minnesota. This was my first time running in Colorado. I still placed in my age group though! The expo was great la lot of informative booths based on mental wellness with a lot of freebies. The atmosphere was fun and festive, there were a lot more participants than I expected, a decent size race. The swag was awesome, loved the tee and medal design with mountains in the background. Mugs and treats were awarded to top 3 finishers in 10 year increment age groups. I would do this again if back in Denver visiting my kiddo.

Second time doing this race. It is so fun to run thru the tunnels on a freeway – I35! The course is an out and back so he run thru the tunnels twice. There are a few challenging long uphills, up to the turnaround spot and near the end going up a couple ramps to get off the freeway. The views of a Lake Superior are beautiful as usual. The shirt (soft unisex tee have run very large the two years I’ve done it) and medal are great. Plenty of post race food and drink. Downside: This race is part of the inline skate races too so the expo before and after are pretty much all focused on skating. So that is disappointing for all of the runners. I wish there was more for runners, there are a lot of us as there as there is a 10k and a Half for runners. Other than that I highly recommend this race.

I put Bays in quotes with a question mark because it took maybe 7-8 miles before I actually saw water? For some reason when I looked at the course map I thought I would see Lake Minnetonka most of the time. But it was a scenic run all in all. It was tough, lots of hills, but for every up there was a down which was rewarding! The finishers medal is very cool, sparkly! The Tee shirt is cute too. There were only top overall finisher awards. I would do this again, if the date allows me. I would like to give it another chance knowing what to expect with hills and some trail, I’m not a fan of trail. Even though avid trail runners would probably say “what trail?” gravel, sticks, stones and uneven paths slow me down.

This was my first Ragnar Road. And this was the first time for this course for the Minnesota Ragnar. St Paul to Duluth. I have nothing to compare to. And as this was the first for this course my team mates who have done it before said it had some things that need to be improved but the route was beautiful. The problems were exchange points traffic. Not the best choices for some. The Munger trail portion was beautiful but wow went forever and was so hot. Just because the route was going north in Minnesota does not mean it will be cool in August. The Start and Finish areas were well organized and fun. Was a little disappointed there was not free beer at the end as in years before but not a game changer for me. would have liked the finish line to be at the Bayfront festival area rather than the Leif Erickson park, parking would have been better and access to Lake Superior to dip our toes would have been easier. It was quite the experience for this first timer and I am thinking about it again.

This was a brand new race added to the Run Stillwater Series. It started in Hudson, Wisconsin and brought us to the new St Croix Bridge crossing that into Stillwater, Minnesota. Very Scenic but by the time we got to the bridge in the 11th mile we were all just about spent in the heat and tons of rolling hills we just ran. It was hard to enjoy the bridge aspect of it. But it was pretty sweet running downhill into Stillwater after all of the hills in Wisconsin. Great Swag – shirt and medal, both are great – love them and certainly did earn them!

This is a fun race but it is a big one , a lot of people and it was extremely hot and humid this year. The race goes well though, it goes pretty smooth. It is a lot of fun to run the parade route before the Torchlight parade, a lot of people on the course cheering you on. The after party is awesome with a lot of swag and freebies from vendors. This was a great kickoff to the festivities of the holiday. Fun atmosphere and for being such a huge event it is produced well, little to no difficulties. Gear check and retrieval is awesome. A lot of great snacks at the end, the popsicle was a lifesaver! Like that they had plenty of water stops for such a hot day. The medal does not indicate what race you did but I just sharpie up the back of all of mine anyway with results and such. So that didn’t bother me, but others might not like. The shirt is great and the course is always enjoyable running across the stone arch bridge near the end. No PR for me in that heat but was pleased I finished pretty decent – it was the free Summit beer at the end calling to me that pushed me along! 😁

This race lives up to the hype and popularity of it. Fantastic Location, beautiful scenery, great course (even Lemon Drop Hill!) – a great course to PR at. The expo and party after the race was sensational. It sure helped that the weather was absolutely perfect. The Swag is awesome, I also volunteered at the 5k the night before the marathons and the swag for that was great! A lot of freebies and services are offered at the Expo as well. Highly recommend this well produced race weekend! Warning: if needed book your accommodations early!

This was a blast of a Runcation! Myself and seven other friends traveled to Canada from Minnesota. It did not disappoint. The Falls are gorgeous and the course has you run by the falls twice for both the 5K and Half marathon. The course is pretty flat, there were some small hills and a bridge we crossed over twice. The scenery as you can imagine – amazing! The swag was awesome, including a bottle of wine! And meeting Katherine Switzer was a thrill, she is so charismatic, friendly and has fantastic stories to tell. She makes each participant feel special and appreciated. There are great early bird prices thru June 30th for next year! I urge all to try, men can race too, there are just not placements for men.

This was a gorgeous little race for a great cause. The Sakatah lake was beautiful to run around. The 10.5k takes you completely around. The 5K was an out and back and the 11 mile bike race went around the lake but went off in another direction for the additional miles then making their way back to the lake to finish. The T-shirt and medal were great and snacks after were typical. I am just always surprised when there is not something salty, I always need my salt! But I will do this race again it was very enjoyable.

This was definitely a fun little race to be a part of. Such a great cause! Chu Vision foundation is dedicated to seeing that cataracts and other forms of preventable blindness are properly diagnosed and treated in underserved communities locally and globally through education, training, and patient care. The race course went around Normandale Lake in Bloomington, very pretty area. They provided Chic-fil-A sandwiches to all and many other snacks. There were shirts and finisher medals as well. And my little nephew had a lot of fun running the .5 mile kids race. I recommend for a small town feel race in the metro area.

This was a fun race and a great cause. I always love running around and near Harriet Island and Raspberry Island of St Paul. It was a beautiful day too! Despite needing to reroute a but due to residual flooding from the crazy Minnesota winter snowmelt, the course was great. I just wish I had known there were going to be age category places being awarded. I might have ran a little faster. I always miss having a finisher medal but I know this was a fundraiser – but I would rather have that than another shirt. There is just something about a medal and a super hero one would have been fun.

I enjoyed trying out this race. But I am not a sprinter and not very fond of racing my heart out from the get go only to end when I am starting to get my breathing under control. I wanted to keep going! But I am glad I did it – not sure I would again. My fastest time will always be anywhere from the 2nd to 4th mile of race. 🙂

The whole race weekend was great but I participated in the Marathon relay for the second time and it was just as great as last year. Very well organized and almost efficient getting racers to each exchange. My complaint with that was spectators riding the bus. The racers who need to get to each exchange should be priority boarding a bus. There were some nervous racers thinking they were not going to make it to the next exchange. The a whole family boarded the bus with one actual racer. I think the drivers need to ask or something. Also, Biffys! 2 is not enough at each exchange! Again, nervous racers having to take care of business but are in a lengthy line and need to be ready for their exchange. My team PR’d we had a great time, beautiful day, fun, well supported course.

This is a fun race in Duluth, MN – I highly recommend. Very well organized and very scenic along the shore line for about half of it. I do wish it could be all along the lake walk. One draw back is where they have the post race beer and awards. The venue is much too small for such a large race.

This was a fun race – repeat runner but this year I did the relay. My time listed is for my 5 miles. I did the last half and it is so much fun running into TCF stadium. The swag is great, snacks at the end and all of the celebrating. My little 5 year old nephew came as well and participated in the Kids Run, his first race and now he is hooked! He had so much fun running around the outside of the stadium and then on to the field to receive his medal! One complaint though about the kids, the shirt sizes a small swallowed up him up whole! What do the littler kids do? Have kids sizes please!

I enjoyed it, first time doing this one. I hope to do the 10 mile distance next year and catch more of the scenery. A lot of fun donning my flannel being very MinnesOHtan! The hotdish after the race is a fun idea but not my favorite, I enjoyed the Summit Beer! 🙂 I recommend if your in the Twin Cities area for a fun “spring” (always questionable in Minnesota!) race.

I really enjoyed this fun and festive race. It took place on March 16th – actually St Urho’s day (Finnish holiday) and as luck would have it I am both Finnish and Irish. Despite the never ending Winter in Minnesota this year the day was cold but quite nice and sunny. The course was ok and loved having it start at CHS Stadium. We couldn’t go on the field because of the crazy amount of snow still existing – but we did start and end at the stadium. Great swag!

This race weekend was so much fun. They really kept it very well organized. I enjoyed the expo and a plus meeting Jeff Galloway! The swag was great, loved the medals and the performance long sleeve shirt I received for doing the challenge – 5K on Saturday, Half on Sunday. It was rather warm for Florida in February I was told – but this Minnesotan enjoyed it! Fun area to explore for the weekend too.

Please see my review for the half marathon reviewing the whole weekend – the 5K was just an added extra the day before the half – part of the challenge that I registered for. It was a pretty easy course and I placed! Loved the whole weekend. If looking for a weekend getaway with a destination race to Florida to escape whatever weather you normally experience in February – I highly recommend this race weekend in Gainesville, FL.

You just never know what you are going to get in Minnesota in January. The Polar Dash early in January this year was almost too warm! This race so terribly cold and windy and it snowed! Although the course is an easy out and back on Shepard Rd in St Paul it was brutal! The wind, the snow, icy road made for a challenging run. But so glad I did it. Always feels great to conquer the elements. The expo and swag is great and you do get to wait indoors until the race starts. I still wish this race offered a medal seems deserving to earn a medal racing in January. But now I have done all distances of this race and have enjoyed them all .
