Florida’s Most Festive Holiday Race! Come to the quaint town of Mount Dora for a run, filled with tree lined vistas of waterfront neighborhoods and lake-hugging roadways. Catch the rising sun through the gracefully swaying Spanish moss and watch the breeze dapple the lake’s surface with flashes of sunlight. The gentle rolling hills give this course a uniqueness of its own. From the start to finish, you’’ll remember the Mount Dora Half Marathon and 5K as the event you will not want to miss.
This event offers 2 walk/run distances, 5k run/walk on Saturday and a single loop half marathon on Sunday. The half marathon is a USATF Certified Course. The finish line will remain open until the last runner completes the race, and medals will be awarded to ALL finishers regardless of when they finish to all 5K & half marathon participants. All half marathon participants must be able to complete the half marathon under 3:30 minutes.
Portion of the proceeds from from the event helps support FFA of Mount Dora High school, and Run 4 a Cause Foundation, a foundation that provides disadvantaged youth with the opportunity to play in local sports programs.

It’s a total love hate relationship for me. The 5K is fun, I take it easy, wave at Santa and Mrs. Clause run with the kids, push my little one in the stroller, and we all finish strong together. The half marathon? By mile 10 or 11 I’m questioning all my life choices every year!
But crossing that finish line makes it worth it it’s all love at the finish line. Tough, hilly, painful, and somehow still one of the most rewarding races I’ve done.

i’ve traveled from wi for this race the last 3 years. it’s my favorite half marathon & i’ve participated in over 20 all over the place. the course is beautiful and the Christmas theme is so fun! Santa is present & the elves on stilts are amazing entertainment. race announcer is fantastic & the volunteers are friendly. not one with the most fans/spectators but those that do are top notch (carolers singing on their balcony every year)! aid stations are perfect & there’s always one local w/ a fireball station. no way i could ever do that while running but others love it & they provide a good laugh. the hills of mount dora make this course challenging but the waterfront miles make it beautiful.

This race was so well-produced! Communication leading up to the race was incredible, including a virtual race guide. Despite offering 3 race options and a large number of participants, packet pickup was highly efficient. Adding to the experience, the expo was held in a fully decorated city park.
Hilly courses are rare in Florida, adding a bit of difficulty, especially the uphill start. It then brings runners through a neighborhood, culminating with a downhill finish.
In addition to a soft tshirt and finisher medal, complimentary photos of the start, finish, and on course were made available within hours of the event!

Very nice local half, great crowds, awesome pre-race environment as it is around the holidays. Course is a little wonky, but you won’t get lost. Hills and inclines keep your body guessing what is coming next. The last leg goes along Lake Dora for a couple of miles to a turnaround and then back to downtown. Lots of water stops, really enjoyable race.
