The Pros: This race was very beautiful. The majority of the course was run on paved running paths and there was plenty of room. The weather was absolutely perfect. The bib pick up was efficient enough. It was at the local Dicks Sporting Goods. The line was very long, but I didnt wait longer than 15 minutes. You also got a 20% off coupon for that day in your email ahead of time. The shirt was nice (I got the 1/4zip, there was also a long sleeved). At the end, you get a finishers medal and a mug. Both were very nice.

The Cons: I finished the race just a hair over 3hours (race limit 3 and a half) and the place looked like a ghost town. The band was almost completely packed up when I finished. There was hot and cold apple cider, a prepackaged caramel apple and a water bottle. Thats it. I’m not sure if there was ever anything else, but I don’t think so. While I understand that I was at the back of the pack, it would have been nice to have things still going for us slow pokes. Thankfully I was staying very close and once I crossed the finish line, I just kept walking back to my hotel.

All in all the scenery was the best part of the run for me.

Bib pickup was easy at Dick Sporting store. You received your bib, quarter zip shirt and a reusable bag. Race day parking was easy at a free parking garage right across the street from the race. Another garage was a 6 minutes walk away. Race course was through the city street for a mile and then we entered a park. The course was well marked, we ran through two parks. One HUGE hill within mile one, but since it was an out and back, it was fun to run downhill. Finish line- hot apple cider, candy apple, trail mix, water, and a race cup along with your medal. It was a cold start but an easy relatively flat race to run. Ample water stations throughout the course and encouraging volunteers. I recommend this race.

It did not help I had been sick but the course killed me, it is extremely hilly. There were a lot of runners walking the course by the 4th – 5th mile. It is a scenic course, the weather was terrible but the leaves were at peak and quite lovely. I very much appreciated the cider at the end, tasted extra good. The shirt is pretty cheap, long sleeve, 3/4 zip, but see thru. The medal was cute and loved the mug! I’m Not sure I will ever do this race again even healthy, but it is a good training run with those hills!
