Great production, just the gravel was large, chunky, and very loose, thankfully after the steep hill it leveled off a bit, still 450ft of elevation every 5k. I completed 7 loops and totalled 23.45 miles, but fell short of the 50k total.

Very well produced race in a very small town. Many small BnB to stay in town before and after the race. Course was rolling hills, two laps through and RV park and a gargantuan hill (maybe a 1/2 mile long with a 10% incline), did I mention it was HOT. Anyways a great town and a great crowd, I will have to run this at least one more time!

Very well put on race supporting veterans, most of the volunteers at aid stations were veterans. The course was great, I would say rolling hills along the trail. The temperature that day was about 90 degrees with crazy high humidity. Running throught the wooded trail was even more humid. Very nice refreshments after the race, bages, fruit, water (both cold and not). Placed 3rd in my age category. Will definitely repeat, hopefully less humid next year!

Hospital hill is not that scary, paced out a little fast for the first few miles as i wanted to be able to walk a little due to the humidity. Very good community support. Very nice crowd, loved seeing people run back down the hospital hill to run up it again, may do that next year. Great time, would repeat, met a lot of great people!

Course is fairly flat, even the bank on the raceway is slight, I took way too many pictures along the way. Stop and kiss the bricks to carry on the tradition. Fairly good number of aid stations, and lots of spectators along the way, wish there was more fan support (ie snacks, alcohol) along the way. Would rpeat again at least once more.

A little chilly at the start, 28 degrees, but warmed up to about mid 50s. Race run on combination of roads and paved trails. Very nice trails with lots of nice woods and shade. Plenty of rolling hills and nothing too crazy. Sadly there was no alcohol on the course with exception of great jello shots at mile 26 aid station. They were great and refreshing, had 3! May run this one again. I was one of the 5:30 pacers, had a blast!

Everyone was a first timer on this new race, hillier than expected. The first half-ish was running on surrounding roads and through neighborhoods, the second half was essentially running around the campus. Finishing on the 50 yard line of the stadium was a very nice touch, great refreshments and beer. Good race, may do again if I am nearby.

So it was my third time running this race in the past 4 years, but my first time pacing the 2:30 half. Kind of a thin crowd, had a few runners that were running just behind me on the course. They changed the course again and went up a longish hill near an observatory, plus the measurement on the course was off by about 1/4 of a mile. All things considered, nice weather, nice refreshments, and a friendly crowd. Nailed my pacing by a few seconds.

Race day started out about 72 degrees and progressed to nearly 80 degrees at the end. The good thing was they had water/gatorade/portapotties at every mile, definitely needed. The first half was over the causeway and up through South Beach, very enjoyable scenery. Nice crowd. Then over the causeway and down through downtown. The second half had us run down the coast to coconut grove and back, kind of boring until the turnaround right downtown in coconut grove while people had brunch. Not my best performance, but due to the temperatures I will take a finish anyday, will run again.

The previous day it reached a high of about 60°, but on race morning it was a chilly 36° and windy at 16mph. Started on time, great amount of runners. Course is nice and relatively flat with the exception of one overpass bridge. Public run drink stations along the way provided plenty of alcohol along the way, supplemented but water stops asking the way. Very fun race, I had a beer, a bloody Mary, another beer, a shot of honey Jack Daniels, a fireball shot, a mimosa, and after finishing a nice 16 oz yeungling. Will definitely run again, when it’s a little warmer.

Very nice local half, great crowds, awesome pre-race environment as it is around the holidays. Course is a little wonky, but you won’t get lost. Luckily it didn’t get as hot as they were predicting, decent amount of fluid, and snack stations, wish they had more than one flavor of gatorade. I think there was like 3 biofreeze stations along the way (not that I would partake during the race, that stuff tastes terrible, lol), overall a relatively flat course, good crowd participation, thanks for the can of ICE COLD Coors at mile 19.

Very nice area outside of Shreveport, LA. Kind of disappointed to find out we couldn’t run through the prison, but i understand safety first. Morning started at about 58 degrees, I ran the 50K (two loops), very good turnout. First lap everyone was fairly together for the first 2-3 miles, then the thinning of the herd started. The elevation changes on this trail, the roots, and switchbacks all made this a pretty serious trail run. I managed to do the first loop in a little over 3hrs, but after the barbeque lunch (which was very good) and a diet coke, I realized my pacing was off. The second loop was a slog for me, even though the weather was almost perfect (just a little warm, 74-75) during the early afternoon. Ended up doing a quick walk for the second loop for fear of twisting an ankle, heard about others that broke toes. Finished slightly before dark. I would imagine that the trail becomes very hairy if it were to rain either before the race or during.
