The Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Race features a half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run – with a special Halloween twist! From the serious road racer to the family dressed head-to-toe in costume completing the race together, this is a can’t-miss fall event!
This year, the Great Halloween Race has a new home in picturesque Eureka, MO and will feature partnerships with local businesses, activities in collaboration with Brookdale Farms, a Eureka-based pumpkin patch with loads of Halloween fun, and of course – a top-quality race with all the great things you’ve come to expect from GO! St. Louis events!
5K & 10K routes will be on 100% paved roads. The Half Marathon will be a combination of paved road and some finely crushed gravel in certain sections. Both events will still be considered a traditional road race course!
In addition to our line-up of events, runners will be treated to great post-race amenities including plenty of candy (it IS Halloween, after all!), Schlafly beer for the over 21-participants, and a great festival area in Eureka’s business district! And don’t forget to dress in costume – the Great GO! St. Louis Halloween Race Costume Contest will return this year!

This was a fun Halloween-themed run. They had us park at Six Flags and then take a bus to the race start. Mostly flat, easy course through the town of Eureka, MO. Course was extremely well-marked and there were a good amount of water stations and crowd support. Nice long-sleeved tech shirt and medal. Plenty of treats afterwards including donuts, beer, chips, bananas, and candy! Would definitely do this run again!

Plenty of parking near the start. I hate the start: all races start together, soon after the start we have a huge hill and the road is narrow. People are walking the hill and its hard to dodge them trying to keep a decent pace. On the half around mile 6.5 there is a huge hill, you go down and then back up and its steep! Once we get to the park its very flat. I like this race because its so close to my home, not many big races in the suburbs of St. Louis.

I ran in 2020 so I can’t comment on what this race might be like in normal years. In 2020 the organizers had efficient protocols to keep runners spread apart. The swag was a sweatshirt hoodie which I wear around Halloween.
In 2020 we ran on trails on bike/hike paths. It was interesting and I think we passed a spot that Lewis and Clark used on their exploration. We also passed a nuclear water site. I certainly did not expect that.

This was a lovely race, the weather was perfect, the course was pretty good as well. More rolling hills than I was expecting. Great course support, they really did a lovely job. Course announcements waited for the last person to finish, and were positive and enthusiastic the whole way.
