Participants need to be present at the start of each 5K, and have that 5K finished prior to the start of the subsequent 5K. This challenge is designed to test participants mentally and physically with physical fatigue, sleep deprivation, and running in the dark. (Headlamps, hand lights, or some other form of illumination will be required.)
Death by 5K N. Little Rock will start and finish at the rugby field at the Burns Park soccer complex, and will be run on paved paths in the park, including the Arkansas River Trail.
In between each 5K, participants will be able to sleep in their cars, or to put up tents in the grass of the rugby field. There is plenty of space for pop up or camping tents.
There will be hot food available after each 5K, along with plenty of snack food and drinks throughout the event. You will not go hungry or thirsty at a RunStrong Event.
Participants will receive an event shirt, along with other great swag. Finishers will receive one of our coveted coffin awards with some surprise swag inside.
Registration will be limited initially to 150 participants. After that, a wait list will be enabled and we will open spots if/when they become available or if we decide to expand the field.

Great endurance race, well organized and a very nice park. My own insanity caused me to tear my left Achilles on 2nd 5K loop, hobbled along for 2 more loops, then called it. My girlfriend did finish and had a great time. I will be back for vindication in 2023! P.S. Unfortunantly the Little rock location is unusable due to tornado damage, will vindicate my self at another location i guess. 🙂

Thoroughly enjoyed this run as my first Ultra! It didn’t seem as intimidating breaking it up into 5K intervals, but it was still a challenge with a run every 2.5 hours and not getting much sleep! The course was easy but scenic along the Arkansas River Trail. The “medal” at the end was a small handmade wooden coffin with the logo branded in it… unique and cool, a great conversation piece. Plenty of food was provided, but I do wish there’d been more drink options and ice.

It was a fun race but very low budget. The bibs did not have any indication that this was Death by 5K – only had a number. Lots of food – we were definitely well fed. I think they should have had more ice at the finish line for the warmest part of the day. The head index was over 110 for 2 of the races. There was also no medical on site. I know a couple people had to drop due to heat exhaustion. I personally had to drop after #6 due to blisters on both feet. When I mentioned this at the finish line I was told “We have some bandaids over there somewhere” – pointing to a large number of boxes.
The t-shirts were cotton – where as the ones from the Memphis Death by 5K were tech shirts.
The ability to set up tents and camp was awesome. Lots of places to chose from.
It was definitely a challenge.
