This was a race like no other. The crowd support, the city, the weather- it was an amazing first experience with a major. My only gripe is that despite start time being 8a we didn’t cross the start line until 8:22. This felt very unorganized. Otherwise, all was smooth sailing.

This is such a beautiful, serene race. It is well managed, great communication, one that I loved. I don’t care a ton about spectators but if you do, this one may not be one for you. I personally liked the quiet on this one and being able to take in the views. The only thing I didn’t like was that I (personally) found the medals and t-shirt to be ugly.

This was a really fun race. Still in it’s relative infancy (I think this was the third or fourth year) it’s pretty small but a good course. There wasn’t much communication from the RD leading up to the race but when I reached out he was responsive. There were a few places I almost went the wrong way due to minimal signage. All things considered, it’s a good race and I think it will only get better. My time suffered due to heat and an IT band injury but still so much fun!

I was so excited for the race, the swag was so cool! That’s where the above and beyond stopped. The course was…. Quirky at best, a confusing logistical nightmare at worst. And it did err on worst. I should have known what I was in for when, upon arrival, the half marathoners were running a loop through the parking lot as part of the course and the RD have a pre race “course guide” to the 10k. I had a sinking feeling then that the course was going to be either overly complicated, without good signage, or both. It was both, with zero mile markers save around mile 5.3 where I should have turned but I saw a “mile 1” marker. This is where things went awry as there was no other signage or support and many went the wrong way. We finished about .05 short but when we went to tell the RD about the logistical issue so he could get people out there to direct, he argued with us. There were quite a few who had this error. I placed third in female finishers overall but left as I felt I didn’t deserve this due to the wrong finish. I likely won’t be doing this again, quite disappointing.

This was my bucket list race and I will say overall it was incredible. Running over Brooklyn Bridge, through Times Square, ending in Central Park… amazing. There were super disappointing features. For such a huge race the expo was one of the most lacking, No freebies from vendors, super crowded… one of the worst expos honestly. The medal was quite small (but felt better when I learned it was made sustainably) and the post race “snack bag” had a water, a Gatorade, an apple, a bag of pretzels and a protein bar. No bagel, no banana… again for a 27,000 person race I expected more. I’ve done so many small races that had way better after race support and snacks.

Glad I did it but for what you pay I wouldn’t do it again.

I did the half two years ago and came back for the full. While the post race was lacking compared to two years ago, the expo, swag, medal and course remained wonderful. Support on course was phenomenal and I was glad to have done my first full here. I will say, we started about ten minutes late and the full was long- 26.52 miles. I hit 26.2 at 4:00:40

I think in a few years this will be a good race, still snags of being only three years old. The race started 20 minutes late which I have never seen before. They allowed for packet pickup starting a week before the race which was great but shirts weren’t in yet so after the race you stood in a long line to get the shirts. The race is pretty pricy and on top of it they offered VIP options for additional cost for better parking and food options. I likely won’t do this one again.

This was one of my top three most difficult half marathons. I truly believed that living in Denver would spare me difficulties with elevation- NOPE! The race, however, was so gorgeous and perfectly run it was worth it. I was worried that Vacation Races would be like Rock and Roll race series (a poorly run money grab) but I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely run with VR again and strongly recommend them!

I was so excited for this race but it was not the best, unfortunately.

Pros:
Packet pickup was smooth
Nice swag- buff, tech tee and medal
Friendly folks
Free shuttle to start and finish line from the hotel

Cons:
Poor communication- no week of emails from the organizers
Not enough portapotties. The line was insane and led to me starting late
The course was… odd. Lots of doubling back, no mile markers until mile five. Course was extremely narrow so when I got stuck behind the slower paced folks (because of the aforementioned portapotties) so I couldn’t get around them FOR MILES. Then I couldn’t make up time.

All in all it was meh. Don’t recommend unless you’re local. Wish I’d done a different race for NC.

All I can say is WOW. Miles 1-9 were phenomenal, with views of the bridge, the skyline, amazing support, and epic running across the bridge. The only concerns I had were NOT ENOUGH PORTAPOTTIES. I was five minutes late starting the race because I waited 20 minutes to go to the bathroom. I also wish the shirt were moisture wicking and not cotton but those are my only two critiques. This is THE RACE to run. I’ll definitely be back!!

This was a really fun race. I showed up to the expo in the last hour of the last day, so I didn’t get my hat 😔 and there were also no course maps or parking guides, but it’s all on the website. The communication leading up to the race was great and the course was nice, the early start was great as it was already a bit humid. I love love love the Medal, the cool towels at the end and the pirates for pictures. The on course support was fantastic as were the volunteers. I’d do this one again.

I was randomly in town and signed up last minute. It’s a race series, so unless you do the entire series or pay extra there’s no swag (which was completely fine by me- the 12k was only $22). Lots of great snacks at the finish.

Omg I don’t know how or why but I majorly PR’d! Ok so the race: amazing communication from the race director for the past 2 years (had to defer last year to this year). She’s been accommodating, easily reached, and efficient. Packet pickup was easy and fast, expo was no frills but I thought the vendors were unique. Race shirt is super cute, as is the medal.

Course was fast, flat, and had everything- road, trail, and boardwalk. Lots of support on the course and the flag alley was super cool. After party was awesome, tons of food and booze.

DO THIS RACE!

The course was gorgeous, liked the shirt and the medal is really cool. Pre-race communication was great, very clear on corrals, start time, parking, and packet pickup. Volunteers and course support was great. Only critique is the lack of snacks end of race- no Gatorade or beer- only a banana, bag of chips and water. Also needed more portapotties.

The scenery was gorgeous and short nice. But the production was disappointing. The race was incredibly difficult to find- I almost missed it and was not alone. Two other cars of runners followed me trying to find it. If it’s that remote, maps and detailed instructions should be sent. They also ran out of medals; I provided my name and address but have yet to receive communication about when they will be sending said medals and apologies for the oversight. I am very disappointed.

Soooo lots to say. The packet pickup in the morning was a bit frazzled (and no signage of where to go) and there weren’t enough portapotties in my opinion. There were a lot of loops (the first 5k was a loop and if you were doing the full it was the half marathon course twice). While waiting to get my shirt an organizer came in and basically made an announcement threatening whoever parked in the start lane (also kinda the fault of the organizers for not blocking it off). Toward the end there was a turn that was not clearly marked that I would have missed if the people behind me hadn’t called out. Liked the shirt and the medal.

I was really pleased with this race. Great swag/medal, well organized, tons of food at the finish, fast flat course. I really liked that the staging had an indoor waiting area since it was drizzling and cool prior to race start. The weather cleared just as the rate started and held! I cannot recommend this enough!

This race is flat and easy, I would highly recommend it. Sadly it was cold, windy, and rainy when I ran it but despite that I really enjoyed it. I’d love to run it again when the weather is more cooperative! The packet pickup was also really unique, at Alcoa brewery/distillery, which was a fun touch.

The run to remember takes you through beautiful Boston, starting and finishing on the oceanfront. I loved that it honored fallen first responders and I admit I teared up more than once as different parts of the route are lined by first responders cheering you on. The after race had a ton of delicious snacks, too.

I had heard a lot of great things about this race and found it to be really well organized with lots of food and fun at the finish line. The weather was cold and rainy (and even a bit of hail) and I was a little bummed because I wasn’t into the theme but that doesn’t have anything to do with how well it was organized and staged.
