Expo: small amd could have more vibes and activities to make it more interesting. Also location was a bit hard to find.
Run start: Starts in a park which was perfect to host everyone and set the tone gor a really nice course.
The course; Enjoyed the run under the shady tree lined streets. Some mix of terrain which made it interesting.
Crowd support: Not much which wad surprising because much of this tun was through neighborhoods.
After the run: Ended back up at the park where there was food, picture / finish line setup (loved this) and generally nice to hangout.
The weather: perfect! Not too hot and not too cold. April is a tricky time of year – you never know what to expect.
Overall: Would do this race again. But stay longer to enjoy the beauty of Savannah after.

This course is very flat, which is great if you are trying to set a PR. I also really loved the medal and the shirt that we got. In fact, this medal was my favorite medal I have ever received. But, I have a few notes. This was my 20th half marathon, and I have to say that this course didn’t “wow” me. Running under the trees was nice (there was a great amount of shade), but nothing really stood out to me as *special* on this course. Also, at some points, the roads were rough (e.g., potholes). It was also pretty warm, and people were struggling to cope with the heat (including myself). So, if you struggle with that, just be ready. However, my biggest note here is that this was probably the quietest race I have ever done. I can only recall like one “cheer station” where volunteers were cheering us on, and that was towards the end after mile 12. My main critique is that the race organizers could have had more volunteers out there just cheering us runners on–especially because it was warm and difficult. But, overall, I think this is still a pretty good option for runners, especially if you’re from out of state like me.

This was a very fun race and a beautiful course. The race COMMUNICATION was fantastic. The race was very well produced. EXPO was small, but the atmosphere was very upbeat, and the volunteers were very helpful. COURSE was beautiful. Almost the entire thing was shaded and the weather was perfect. Lots of turns through the streets with beautiful houses/buildings to look at and many of the streets had tree canopies over them with Spanish moss hanging down. Not much spectator or community support, but the course was well staffed with water stations. I wish we would have had more time to explore Savannah because it’s a very interesting town.

This was the first time I’ve run this race & it may be my favorite half marathon so far! We traveled from Maryland (I’m trying to hit every state) & would come back in a heartbeat! The expo was easy to find & we loved the shirts. We of course bought more items (a little pricey). We were able to walk right up to the race – it was so nice & not too crowded. It was pretty warm & humid but there was plenty of water & nuun being handed out. I was running with my daughter & it was her first half marathon so we were a little “slower” & finished around 3 hours. The course was beautiful & there was shade on most of it even though it was hot. A few misses – the medical tent didn’t have any Vaseline or anything else for chaffing which I think is pretty commonly needed at running events & by the time we finished I received a cute bag with 3 oranges in it. My daughter didn’t even get a bottle of water (I think she missed the people handing them out) & luckily my friend who had done the 5k saved me her banana. I would have expected some better food since Publix was a sponsor. It was a great event overall!

It was around 70F, so some might need adjustment if you are from the North. The route was very beautiful with many shades. It has many turns, so it slows down. Several brave men were also running. Breakfast was light with beer/mimosa, banana and energy bar. Overall, it was a great race destination for the weekend. People in Savannah were very nice, too.

Was traveling for work and stumbled onto this gem. It’s a women’s race though I did see several men running (I just don’t think they can AG place). I couldn’t make the expo because it ended at 7 and there were no flights from the west that could get out there in time. A friend got my bib without problems. The course starts and ends in Forsyth Park–it is a gorgeous course among the oaks and old houses. You run through the historic section and then down to the Savannah Banana stadium. There are lots of turns but the course is so flat you can see them well ahead of where you need to be and you can hit your tangents easily. After the start, the course pack thinned sufficiently that you weren’t jockeying for space (you do start with the 5K runners and then peel off after 2.5mi). There were plenty of water stations. At the finish line there were huge bottles of chocolate milk (yea! good job!) and a bag with a banana and an orange and a energy bar and a water so you don’t have to go “trick or treating”. The AG medals were nice (they slide onto your race ribbon). The finish chute was good for spectators. And when you finish, you’re right at the farmer’s market. Really nice course, would totally do it again

The half marathon course was beautiful! Mostly ran through the historic district and then down to the stadium where the Savannah Bananas baseball team plays. There were a lot of “in and outs”, running down a road, only to turn around at some point and then do the same.
The 5K and Half Marathon races started at the same time and ran the same course for the first 2.5 miles which I didn’t really like. I think they should have let the half marathoners go off first and waited at least 30 mins before letting the 5K racers go out. It might have alleviated a lot of the congestion at the starting line. It was crowded with the narrow streets until after mile 2 or so when the 5K racers broke off to go a different route from the half marathoners.
Course aid stations were plentiful. Water and Gatorade were served, and gu gels were given at a few of the stations, but I didn’t take any.
The Expo was kind of meh in a very small venue. They switched to technical Brooks t-shirts this year (I believe they gave out sports bags in years past) which was really nice. They had other race merchandise for sale at the expo as well.
Course support from spectators was alright, nothing extraordinary, but the scenery around historic Savannah was motivating enough for me.
Finish line was at Forsyth Park and it was beautiful! There was a band playing afterwards and free beer with drink tickets. The recovery packet of food consisted of a tangerine, banana, bottle water and some Nutrigrain bars. You could also take a chocolate milk if you wanted.
Overall, I would recommend this race to anyone who was looking to find a fun girls weekend in a beautiful historic city. Savannah rocks!

Race was well organized with lots of crowd support and plenty of water stations. Course would through historic Savannah with a lap through the Savannah Bananas baseball field. Savannah is laid out in Squares and the course took us past most of the 14. Beautiful tree-lined streets dripping with Spanish moss made for excellent sun cover. While the food post-race was nothing to brag about, I did enjoy the live music and beer. Would definitely recommend!

This was my redemption run after defecting on RNR Savannah in November 2021 due to unsafe running conditions. The weather was warmer than I typically prefer but it was a GORGEOUS day. I liked that we got bags and water bottles instead of shirts. Medal is sizable and nice. Lots of support on course, everyone was friendly and nice. I’d do this again and highly recommend.

The energy of this race is unmatched. It was my first half ever and I ended up placing first in my age group. The atmosphere is so great, everyone is super encouraging and cheers you on throughout the race. The Gatorade at the water stations was BEAST and I was so thankful. My only complaint is that I didn’t get a tshirt in my race swag. I was really looking forward to getting one and was super disappointed when I got to the Expo and they were selling them for an additional $30. I’m a pretty broke college student and had just enough extra money to sign up for the race and I couldn’t afford a shirt which was sad. They had a band playing as we crossed the finish line which was awesome. They had mimosas and beer waiting for you at the end (if you were 21+). I want to run this race every year because it was SO MUCH FUN.
