This race was so well organized for someone coming from out of town. I knew what to expect at all times. Course was perfect! Challenging first 5 miles ( just run conservatively) , gentle miles 5-10 (all downhill and beautiful) and mentally rough last 3 miles as you come into town. So glad I signed up. I got to visit places all over the park too. I ran by myself but met lots of friendly runners. Will return for another race !

This race is GORGEOUS. If you want views, this course is the one for you! If you aren’t used to altitude or big elevation changes, just be prepared. The first five miles are a steady incline, and you gain about 900 feet, but boy is it worth it. There is another hill at mile 10.5 that lasts for about a mile, and it’s mentally difficult as well. Be ready for elevation changes!

This can be a brutal run if you haven’t trained hills. The 5 mile climb at the beginning of the race will make you work for the views at the top. The downhill provides a chance to catch your breath and regain some of your lost pace time. There is another hill to ascend at mile 11 to 11.75 but the its a nice downhill and flat finish at the East Glacier Lodge. Definitely worth the trek to rural Montana.

This race was incredible. Only a pack of runners could be so excited at 5:30 in the morning to be out in the cold preparing for a long run up a steep hill. The excitement and camaraderie of other runners was unbeatable and made the run such a blast. Yes, the first 5 miles uphill was tough, but knowing there was a gorgeous view at the top (and countless beautiful sights along the way) made it worth it. Such a great course. Awesome course support. Beautiful medal. Such a fun experience.

I’ve done 3 Half Marathons, and 1 Full Marathon. This by far had the best scenic view! The first 5 miles is all uphill but it’s not as difficult as I thought because you have so many people running around you and the views are just amazing. This is my 2nd Vacation Race and it’s always so organized. I would highly recommend running this half! Exploring the Glacier National Park after the race was a bonus!

This was my second half marathon and by far the most scenic. I nearly died in a car wreck and this run in glacier brought me to tears, because when i was in a 3 month coma i was playing with all these kids in front of a scenic back ground. While on this run i was brought back to that image of my coma.

This was by far the prettiest course I have ever run! I done most of vacation races half marathons but this one was a big wow! Coming around mile 4 & looking down in the valley of pure green of trees with mountains in the background blew me away. The course sounds scary but really with so much down hill after mile 5 you will end up with pretty much your average time for a half. They redisgned the race shirts which I love the new design. Medals are amazing as always & I love that they change them every year now. You couldn’t have asked for a better ending with the Beautiful lodge at Rast Glacier you feel like you in the park itself. They even had an Native American song lead us off to the start. I also hate shuttles but they were actually not so bad. I highly recommended this run for your buket list.

The race is about the vacation to Glacier National Park, specifically the east side. The race starts with a 4AM wake up to get to the shuttles by 4:30, then at 6 the race starts. With a quick warm up mile the course goes straight up a mountain for 5 miles. Most people walk/jog this bit. Then a screaming 6 miles down which for me is great but difficult for my father. And before you know it the race is over.

Mountains, wild flowers, fresh air and deep endless valleys call you back to East Glacier every year.

Just needs a little more organization for the race start and parking situation.

Highly recommended. Even for first time half marathon runners. Views are spectacular, race was run very well and the memories are unforgettable. I would only recommend that there was another entrance for parking and that perhaps the swag was more specific to the race such as long sleeves or more picturesque graphics.

What an incredible race!! The views, the course, the mountains, the hills, the native Indians! This race will be hard to top!! We were a bit intimidated by the first 5 miles. But after talking to some experienced runners, we planned on walking the uphill 5 and I’m so glad I did!! We are from Michigan which is flat. Nothing home could have prepared us for the hills or altitude, so we decided to enjoy the views and not kill our legs for the rest of the race. Which I’m not sure if it worked!! My legs were still toast by mile 9!! Downhill was harder than expected but liked the help of the gravity! Lol!! The mountain and lake views were unbelievably gorgeous!! We stopped and took so many pictures, which I don’t regret one! I would sooooo do this race again. Don’t worry about your time and just enjoy the scenery! VR did a fabulous job organizing so many people! Even in spite of the mud! We also did several hikes at Glacier National Park. Just amazing. It’s God’s country out there!! And you can tell!!

This is a gorgeous course! Running along Glacier National Park, this race climbs 5,000 feet in 5 miles, and then descends 5,000 feet in 5 miles. The last 3 miles are rolling until the finish on a field. Truly stunning views as you climb through the race, over looking Two Medicine! The race makes the runners camp over night and take a bus at 5am from the fair grounds.

This race was no joke, but the views are worth it. You get bussed to the start line, and begin a pretty intense 1,250ft. climb for 5 miles. The next 5 are downhill and are a welcome break. Watch out for the hill at mile 10, it will get you! The race was smooth, weather wasn’t great. Chilly, rainy, and a bit of hail. But the views were amazing, and the race swag helped out a lot!

Runners have the privilege of starting on the land of the Blackfeet Nation before ascending into the mountains of Glacier National Park. This race was well-put together and challenging. While my time was decent overall, I struggled on the long stretch of uphill climb. The views were incredible, and ending in East Glacier was very cool. The shuttle service ending so early was my only complaint; 5am was the last shuttle we could take, and the race didn’t start until 6am. While the shuttle got us to the start in plenty of time, it was pretty chilly and tough to hang around until the start.
