I’ve had several friends run this race and hype it up. It did not disappoint! The expo was well organized and had great vendors. I finally got my National Parks towel from @getsprints!!! The race shirt is well made and there was some cool extra sway in the bag, including a car decal.

It was super easy to find the start corrals and the race started on time without any issues.

Course support was excellent with plenty of hydration stations that included water, Gatorade, and even pickle juice. Everyone was super friendly and the crowds were great.

I loved running over the Ambassador Bridge as the sun rose and I crossed into Canada for the first time in my life. The Underwater Mile was a neat experience, but the humidity and uphill at the end almost did me in.

After the race they had heat sheets and water ready to go, as well as chocolate milk. I love the medal and how it includes the Spirit of Detroit since that is such a well known symbol of the city.

My only complaint is that they ran out of the specialty beer at the after party, but that’s a minor inconvenience.

Overall, this was an excellent race and I highly recommend it if you live in the area or need to check Michigan off your 50 state challenge.

This was one of the best 5Ks I’ve done! Boordy Vineyards is a gorgeous location and they have great wine. It was so nice to finish a race, sit down in the shade with a glass of wine, and listen to omusic. I’ve never felt more relaxed after a race. I highly recommend this race. In fact, I’ve already signed up for next year.

Y’all. That was the HARDEST race I’ve ever done. The first 5 miles were up hill and it hurt! But the views were amazing and there was an excellent downhill after those first miles. The race was very well run and the medal is totally awesome. I loved that the race company kept the entire finish line up until the last racer came through. Race volunteers and staff were super friendly and helpful.
I high recommend this race for the views and the chance to visit Glacier National Park. But definitely incorporate some hill repeats in your training!

This was my third time doing this race, and once again I really enjoyed it. It was well organized for having so many participants, and the swag was great this year. My only complaint was that there is no drop off option at the race start. You have to go to either the Naval Academy Stadium or Community college to be dropped off. I live less than a mile from the bay bridge, so it was very inconvenient to drive all the way to the community college when the race is basically in my backyard.

My main complaint about this race is that it was really hot. That’s something the race director just can’t control. It was still very well run and had great course support. I was injured going into this race, so I was taking it easy anyway. I really enjoyed getting to see DC and had many great photo opportunities. I really wish it didn’t end on that big hill though. I was already struggling enough!
As always, the race shirt was not the best design (still better than 2018!) and while the race medal was really cool because it opened, I did not like the color. I’m glad I did this race, though and it’s a good one for your Marathon Bucket List.

This was such a fun race to do! Other than a bridge at the beginning, the course was nice and flat. Race production was very well run and they had the best snacks at the end! I loved the race shirt, it’s so soft! One of my favorites to wear. The medal was also great. I know it’s supposed to be a part of a series, but it looks good on it’s own too. If you need a half to check off New Jersey for your 50 states challenge, this is the one to do.

This is one of my favorite races to do for marathon training. I’d much rather do my 20 mile long run as a supported race. The trail is nice and flat and I’m so glad they changed the finish line location. As always, CCR has the best snacks at the end of the race. The shirt this year wasn’t as good as previous years, but it’s fine. I still wish they would offer a medal for finishers, or at least the option to add one. But that’s just me. I’d still do this race anytime I was training for a fall marathon.

If you want a race with beautiful scenery, this is a good one. Vermont is a beautiful state in general, and this took you through the heart of the countryside. That being said, after the first 10K, it got boring real quick. There are three covered bridges but you only get to cross one of them. The course has rolling hills, with one major hill.
My main issues had to do with runner drop off and pick up. We got stuck in the runner parking traffic, but once we got past that it was fine. There wasn’t any information about runner pick up after the race. My ride had to park before 10:00 and wait for well over an hour for me to finish. I would have rather just finished then jump in the car without my ride having to wait for me.
The highlight of the race was a dog named Hank that we met in Woodstock around mile 4 and he was a very good boy!

My only complaint is the swag, particularly the shirt. It looks nice, but fits really weird in the arms. If you wanna fun ten mile race, this is a good one to do.

What I liked:
-the race shirt and medal
-after race food, drinks, etc.
-start and finish was well run
-course was just the perfect amount of difficult
What I didn’t like:
-a few course hiccups (5K leads coming through when most people were at a water stop), but this is the inaugural race and I’m sure they will smooth those out next time.
-water stops needed a few more volunteers
-packet pickup was a small tent outside (wouldn’t have been so bad but it was raining)
Final thoughts: this is a hometown race for me. It’s a route that I’ve run often for training so it wasn’t as exciting for me. I personally had a really good run, and I think that they did a great job for an inaugural race. I would recommend it to locals who don’t want to travel too far or a first time racer.

So the best part of this race is getting to run down the Las Vegas Strip at night. That part is really awesome. It’s also a flat course if that is something you’re looking for.
My biggest issues with this race were a lot of the little management things that just didn’t make sense. The corral staging area was at least a mile from the start line. There were very limited port-o-potties for the amount of people. Although once you got through the tunnel when your corral was called, there were plenty of them! But of course, at that point you’re just trying to get to the start. You also had to pass through a tunnel once your corral was called and people from other corrals were just standing around blocking the entrance.
Then we walked to the start line and just… went? There wasn’t a separate wave start. I’ve never experienced that before at a big race like this.
The medal was nice. The shirt was okay. I think what really bothers me about all of these little things is that this race is really expensive, so I would expect top notch planning and execution, especially from a race group that’s been doing this for 25 years. I’ve done big races for less money that were way more organized. It was just disappointing and I don’t think I’ll ever do another RnR race.

What can I say? This is THE New York City Marathon. I have been wanting to do this race for years and it did not disappoint. I’d say the only thing that really went wrong was the bus situation getting off the ferry. Otherwise, the crowds were amazing, the on course support was great, and the swag was on point.

I think this should be nicknamed the McMansion half marathon because there were a lot of them! The scenery of the Rhode Island coast was gorgeous! The course had rolling hills which added a little challenge but wasn’t super hard. The race was well run, especially the shuttles from parking to the start. I would definitely recommend this race.

This was my third time running the Kentucky Derby miniMarathon (it was my first half ever in 2016). I love the course because it takes you through some of the most scenic parts of downtown Louisville. The medals are always amazing and I’m loving the Louisville landmarks series they’re doing. There’s plenty of water stations, the crowds are great and super friendly, and running through Churchill Downs is the highlight of the race. I’m looking forward to running this race again and again.
