This was the best community of local runners that cheers you on during the race. The runners, volunteers, and spectators were all very friendly. The race was mainly on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. It was pretty much flat; there was slight elevation for the first 6 miles, then after the turnaround, it was mainly downhill. However, the last mile was all uphill to get to the finish line at Fluor Field. There was plenty of water and Gatorade at every station. The station is about every 2-3 miles. There wasn’t any porta-potty on the trail; if there was, I think there were 2 for the half marathon. I was surprised the stations didn’t offer any hydration gel packs. Luckily I was prepared with my own gel packs. Overall, I was very pleased with the race and I am able to check off South Carolina.

The views were spectacular! The first 5 miles were uphill, but it was all worth climbing to the magnificent views of the Glacier mountains. Vacation Race (VR) put on a top-notch race. Great communications! Great after-party. I love the huge medal. I am hooked on participating in VR races. 🙂

Great race! Perfect weather. The after-party was fun and entertaining, PT station, booths to visit, free pizza, and 2 free drinks (choice of beer, hard-seltzer, Gatorade, water). The swag was on point! I absolutely loved the support from the volunteers & spectators. They knew how to motivate the runners. Mile 9 was honoring the military that died in action. People were friendly. Loved the city! All around great experience! 🙂

The first 8 miles are uphill, and the first 3 miles are on gravel. Elevation at the start line was around 4,000 ft, and we climbed up another 2,000 ft. The last 5 miles were steep going downhill. I can see Mount Rushmore from a distance but still great views from Black Hills Forest. About 2,800 runners participated. Packet pick-up was easy. The aid station was fully stocked up on water, gnarly, and food. It was a cupless event so you need to have your own hydro pouch. Overall, great experience and definitely memorable because of the tough course but rewarding with great scenic views.

This is one of the best swags I have ever received from a race. I didn’t expect a blanket post-race. It was a nice surprise at the finish line. This was my first Heroes Run HM. I am pleased that this was my Louisiana HM race I’ve participated because the people are amazing, very generous and supportive. The course scenery was somewhat nice. A few hills but mainly flat. The temperature was 54 degrees throughout the morning and drizzling. The support was motivating throughout the race. Hydration station at every mile. Very well organized race. I highly recommend this race.

RnR in Philly was well organized. They provided a ton of water/Gatorade at each station. There were at least 6 water stations. Loved that the course was mainly flat and a ton of downhill along the river. This year’s race was HUMID! Started out at 90% humidity. Cool bling, but wish it was a bit bigger. 🙂
