Skidaway Island- The Landing is a private residence outside of Savannah. Our group has ran Savannah before and we wanted to come back and run this island. The running course is on a cart path while the golf course remains open. Some of the residents were not happy we were on their golf cart path, just WATCH OUT! I almost got ran over by a granny missing her tee time! It was great though and we laughed it off. We saw a few rare birds and an alligator (in the water) on the course. The water stops were sporadic but the residents set up a few themselves. The swag wasn’t great- just a bella canvas tee and the expo was at a running store that had very little things. My friend fell at mile 10 and not one police officer had a band aid… a mom at water stop mile 11 did. Moms for the win! Once she crossed the finish line, the race director immediately met her. The EMS was just as worthless… he started bandaging her up with a dirty wound… didn’t have anything to clean it with… only water… The race director was great though and made up for the mishaps. The course has an open road for a mile out and back before you enter into The Landing… the firstish and lastish mile were the worse. It just went forever I felt like. The road is slanted and my hips felt it. Very small, flat race with very little crowd support but great marshy views of Savannah’s islands. No hassle parking as well. I sign up for free pictures, awesome views and a great medal- I received all with exceptional quality. I wish the expo was a little more but all in all it was a great girls weekend!

I truly enjoyed this race. For Louisville, the half was very flat, and it showcased most parts of Louisville that could be on a flat route. We ran past Louisville Slugger into Harlem through Churchill Downs came back through the University of Louisville then to the finish line by the water. Many cool murals on the route and good crowd support. I enjoyed that this race is part of their Kentucky Derby Festival, so we enjoyed the festival while we were visiting. The route split at one point but the full came back around the mile 11 mark on the half. I enjoyed being able to see the full front runners and encourage them… BUT I don’t know how much the full runners like it. I could see some half runners getting in their way.

The expo was great… I wish they had better merch items for the half. I opted to get a Louisville running company shirt instead and a sweatshirt from Churchill Downs. Race day was great and started on time. Weather was perfect. I have family close by so I am thinking I may repeat this state!

I will add- I enjoyed staying at the Cambria. It was perfect. The starting line was a street over and the finish line was a block over. I came with my family and my husband was easily able to navigate two small kids from the room. We walked everywhere and the derby festival is close by as well. Wild Eggs for breakfast was across the street. I put our name on the list then went up to take a shower before we left!

I still have yet to receive my email for the results. I was able to pull them off the website though. I wasn’t impressed with the pictures that were taken and very expensive from other halfs I have seen.

Every year, I enjoy this race as my birthday run! Every year, all my friends complain how hot and humid it is. I wear my hydration vest whereas most races I don’t. My first year I didn’t wear my vest and needed it. plus, I also don’t like the taste of hot water in the plastic cups. I like being able to say that I ran on 277. This race is a massive party that starts at the expo. This race is put on very well. Great merch that can be purchased along with a nice medal and a good shirt. Plan to spend time at the expo, it is a good one. I like the free pictures but not great shots.

Wow, wow, wow. This was the first and could have only been once race. We heard about it on a podcast and immediately signed up. North Conway is a gorgeous New England town and the locals were very welcoming. The expo was awesome and the merch was the best I have seen so far… Vacation Races a close second. You couldn’t have guessed this was the first time in this area for this race, it ran so well. The logistics were great… parking wasn’t bad. I loved everything about this race. The views were awesome. Mountains ahead, snow on the right, river on the left- very tough to beat! Completely down hill which is what Revel is known for and man did I feel it the following day! We stayed at the hotel connected to the outlets and race morning wasn’t bad. The race started on time. Free pictures! I am looking forward to my next Revel Race!

This year at MB Half, they decided to change up the course to running the backside on the boardwalk. It was ok. It definitely got crowded but you eventually get back on Ocean Blvd and run it back in. The expo was just as crappy as years past. BUT you get a tank and a long sleeve tech shirt. At the end of the race, you get free pizza and beer if that is your thing. I get excited because Girl Scouts are there selling cookies! Love the medal, love the race.

This was my very first half marathon. This course is extremely flat and easy to get a PR. Parking is ample and easy for both the expo and day of. You are able to run down Ocean Blvd. At the end, they provide free pizza and beer if interested.

Hills, Hills, Hills. This is the race that I found out even a 5k could be filled with hills. It was my first time but a great local race where lots of friends can come together! will be back! loved the chocolate and the jacket!
