The race was pretty flat, the weather was a bit hot, there were plenty of aid stations throughout the race and many friendly spectators out cheering. A lot of the spectators provided water, Gatorade, icy pops, ice and sprinklers. The race production team had ice cold towels to cool you off. The finish line had a ton of treats. The medal was the pretty nice. The only thing is the marathon and half marathon elite run alongside you on the course at points, which I think was worse for the elites than for me.

After sitting around in the cold, though raining there was a tent with entertainment while waiting an hour and a half for the 10K to start. I did the Butterfly Challenge the 5K started at 6:30 and the 10K started at 8:30. A little poor planning. Again, the course ran thru Dollywood, volunteers / employees were on point. Why is the finish uphill? Why? There was a box with snacks, water, and a banana of course at the end. They also had merchandise for sale.

The bad thing was you had to check your bib for the 10K at gear check if you were doing the challenge. I wrapped mine in aluminum foil and stuck it in my pocket which worked. The course runs thru Dollywood which was cool. The support and aid stations was satisfactory; there was a small piece of cinnamon bread offered during the race for fuel. The 5K was run before the 10K, so I did have to sit around for an hour and a half waiting for the 10K. It was a little chilly and raining, they did have a tent with chairs set up which was perfect. They had a band playing and karaoke, the band was good. I was tricked though they handed out a white box at the end of the race and I thought it had the cinnamon bread in it – no, no it did not.

This is most definitely a must do experience especially if you are a Dolly fan, but with that being said Hills, Hills, and then even more hills. The last mile is uphill, I mean uphill it was brutal. Additionally, the pacers were off they were running way faster than the pace noted. They said it was because the course is longer than 13.1 miles. An additional ouch. The support was top notch, the enthusiasm was not lacking, volunteers/employees were amazing. You do get to ride two (2) roller coasters at Mile 11 and Mile 11.5 ish, the second coater was so worth it. The water stations were adequate. You do run thru Dollywood, Splash and the parking lot. There were photo opportunities. It is their first attempt at a running event.

This race was mostly on the street, but the end was on the boardwalk. There were plenty of water stations every other mile. Most miles had markers, there were one or two that did not. They gave out a towel, a hat, a bag, and of course bananas, chocolate milk, pretzels, water, Gatorade, etc. The volunteers were exceptional and the crown support was insane. Make sure you wear your green and shamrocks.

The race was on a beautiful course, some of the roads were a little wonky, but the view was amazing. Hills, hills and hills both up and down. Water stations seemed a little light and they had the reusable cup, which was not difficult to maneuver, I thought. Volunteers were pouring the electrolytes into the cups and for the water they had a push spigot contraption, they did let you practice when you picked up your bib. The bib pickup was quick and a very small event. I stayed at the Arroyo Pinion which was a 15 minute walk from the start, really nice place to stay. The medal was pretty.

I stayed at the Ocean Glass Inn which was a great location only a 20 minute walk to the start and a 10 minute walk from the finish. The race was a beautiful run along the water and among trails on a gravel path (Miles 7.5 to 10.5). There were water stops at every 2 miles, the volunteers and support was amazing. There were a couple of spots that you get hemmed in because of the tightness of the space, but most people were respectful of the spacing. They had gels and stroopwaffles .

The 1/2 marathon had some crappy weather and the domestic half is a very small race just a little over a 1,000 runners. This is a community run in memory of Katie who died at 11 from cancer, this race raises money to help Ronald McDonald house and Families going through the same tragedy. The swag is big time, there is a bar-b-que, raffles, awards for the top 5 finishers in every age category. I was totally blown away by the support of the community. It was easy to walk to from my hotel the Arlo, race was gorgeous, great views tons of spectators out cheering, the volunteers were amazing. The start time was 7:15 for the elite runners and the corrals are crazy packed at 7am. The water stops started at mile 4 and were more frequent as the race went on. The weather held out, no rain and the cherry blossoms were gorgeous. It was a lovely run.

The race course was beautiful, the end of the race was pretty rough a huge hill just before the finish. The event itself was pretty awesome, lots of hills. I stayed at an AirBNB on East Liberty and was able to walk to all the races, it took me about a 1/2 hour. Getting to the race is easy and so is getting out at the end. Also events for children
The West End Mile was really mellow and nice, free skyline coney, beer, and water.
The 10K went off without a hitch, the 5K was delayed due to lightning, pretty well handled, notification by text and race officials notified groups in person to confirm.
The 1/2 marathon was a BIG production, people pulled out all the stops, cheering, swedish fish, chocolate, twizzlers, pretzels, beer, shots, coconut water, orange slices, you name it was there. The hills were pretty brutal, but not horrible. The humidity was killer. The 1/2 got red-flagged half way through my section of the race. At the end of the race you had many choices banana, orange, apple, gogo fruit, pretzels, cookies, and pizza. Outside there was a town of free things being given away. It was a pretty amazing race and would recommend it to anyone.

It was on PCH very hilly, warm day, plenty of fluid stations, volunteers were awesome, decent cheering sections. The parking is a 20 minute walk from the start, a little confusion where and when the waves started for the half. I did the Combo Challenge ran both the 5K and 1/2, would do it again.

It was a beautiful and peaceful run through the trees with fall foliage, a couple of small hills and a relatively small race – people wise. Easy route, out and back, one water / Gatorade station at miles 2.4 and 3.8. The people were great. The medal was well designed.

The course is tough but not crazy, the scenery is beautiful, and the cheering squads are no joke. The race results can be printed out for you at the end of the race. They had little cups of animal crackers, goldfish, peanut bagels, and way more. The food trucks were lined up waiting for you.

The sound of the ocean was relaxing too bad it was raining and the weather unusually cold. Not a lot of cheering but where there were people they made up for the empty roads. I would definitely run this again.

There are cool mile markers, and stops to take pictures with many Disney characters, so I would make an allotment of time to do this and perhaps not worry about finish time as much, wish I knew this going into it. I lucked out, because the weather was perfect for running at 49 -54 F. Have your camera out and ready or wear a go pro camera when entering the Magic Kingdom.
