Beautiful course along the Trail of the Coeur d’ Alenes from Wallace to Kellogg, ID. The race organizers outdo themselves every year by adding new twists to the event and by being receptive to runner feedback. The mark of a great race is that the fun doesn’t end when you cross the finish line – the post-race scene at the Jackass Race was awesome! I’m a repeat runner (all four years!) and will keep coming back for this race.

This is still one of my favorite races, and I plan to do it yearly, the course is extremely fun with a dash of challenge, there are some extremely beautiful areas you get to run through as well.
I have some complaints nonetheless.
Mostly the race photos costing $15 each. I love that they use a local photographer, but when NegativeSplit hosts 90% of the races in the areas and their photos are included, it’s tough to see a price tag of $60 for 4 digital download photos.
The other thing I noticed this year was a lack of food vendors at the finish line compared to last year. I had less incentive to stick around this year than in 2022. I love buying food after a long race lol.

Excellent! Just excellent.

This was my first year running the Jackass half and I loved it! Beautiful course, awesome aid stations and fun vibes all around! I really loved the shirts, you get to pick your color ahead of time and the quality was great. The “metals” were super unique too. Beware, there is a challenging hill at mile 12, and a less intense incline at mile 8, but otherwise a flat, downhill fast course. Hope to do it again!

This is a great run! This was my third year and the rest stops, logistics, and swag get better every year. The (mostly) downhill course is smooth and meditative with beautiful fall colors and a welcoming crowd of volunteers. Weather has been spectacular every year! They really nail the best weekend for a race.

From the get go the other walkers were a blast to joke and talk with. At the starting line we huddled together because it was pretty chilly. The crew had hot coffee and a fire and heaters for everyone to huddle around. Also had some good food and than fake tattoos and body glitter. One the race began we all started walking down the beautiful Trail of the Coeur D’ Alenes. Through the different towns of the silver valley. We than had to go up hill for a bit on the main road and then continued on the trail all the way into Kellogg. Once in Kellogg it was all up hill and than the final turn was down hill to the finish line. Everyone cheered for the racers and walkers. All the aid stations and volunteers did a phenomenal job. Cheering on everyone keeping everyone’s spirits up. I will most definitely do the Jackass again.
Great race, I’ll be back!

Last year I cut my teeth on half-marathons at this race. Since then, me and my friends have started a running group, signing up for multiple races throughout the year. We decided to make this race our Daytona 500, and last race of the running season. It’s mostly downhill, fun, and cheeky. The most fun race of the year IMO.
Very well organized, great people!!!

The stations throughout the race are so much fun! The natural beauty as you go is amazing! I think it is an easy course, except for the 2 hill. I would recommend this race to everyone, it is ran so well and is so much fun!

I’m not a runner but have now “jog-walked” two races with my sister to support her dreams. I actually dislike running very much but this race – the crew- the stations – the beauty and the support goes beyond any hopes that I had. I will forever be at this race either participating or cheering. This community is golden!
