Great Turtle Trail Run

The Great Turtle Trail Run is one of the most scenic trail events in Michigan. We have a capacity of 3,000 participants running and walking the inside trails of Mackinac Island during the last open weekend of the season.

The Half Marathon will start in front of Mission Point Resort. The beginning of the course follows the shoreline featuring breathtaking views of the lake, neighboring islands and the historic Arch Rock formation. You will then veer off the shoreline and wind through the beautiful island interior on bike trails and roads. The roads are mostly paved with some gravel. The last segment of the race returns to the shoreline, with the finish line located in front of the resort.

All who register will enjoy special race features – commemorative medals, a race apparel in Great Turtle fashion, special Halloween events for adults and kids, great end-of-season sales – plus the beauty of late fall on the Island.

This year we are offering FREE race photos to all of our participants. Photos will be provided to all race participants. You can view and share your photos on your results page at no additional fee.
