Of note, this event is part of a race weekend. The triathlon seems to be the main events… with the runs being “add ons”.

Difficulty- hills. Elevation map uploaded. The big thing to note is that the run ends with an uphill… followed by a down hill ON GRASS!!! It was fun, but def took effort not to fall on your face!
Scenery – it was pretty. Fall in New England. Colors not quite changing yet, but lots of trees… clearly I’m not from somewhere with lots of greenery!
Race production- we did packet pick up on run day, so not sure of any pre- race events.
Morning of parking was very easy with directors telling you where to go. … except then you had to walk up a hill (ok – it wasn’t that big, but I ran the day before so I’m going to whine about it!!) to get to the start. Plenty of bathrooms available- and very clean with plenty of TP. Aid stations had Gatorade, water, gummy bears, energy gels, and other stuff at EVERY station which was approx every 2 miles starting around 1.5 miles. Post run stuff consisted of Gatorade, flavored waters, mimosa/ Bloody Mary. For food there was lots to choose from: beans, sweet potato mash, 3 or 4 different kinds of egg bakes, salads, desserts. They made a cute stage area for division finishers. At the end you could get a print out of your current finish status! The participant count was way smaller than I imagined, but as mentioned, triathlon was the main event.
Swag – shirt was a cotton tee- but it was cute. Finisher medal was unique- pressed wood type (pic uploaded). Other swag consisted a draw string bag, travel toiletries and a sticker.

The Pumpkinman Triathlon Festival was overall a really great race! The hilly course was challenging, but the buffet at the end was superb! I would recommend this race for anyone local or wanting to visit Maine. The organizers were great and the course was well open to traffic but there were tons of volunteers helping keep us safe.

Pumpkinman Festival is definitely on my would do again and in a heartbeat race event. This weekend event includes a triathlon and various other race distances too. I finished the half marathon. Absolutely beautiful course going thru backwoods, country roads and historical buildings/residences, etc. Oh and it gets better…. The Harvest Food feast at the finish is indescribably delicious. An abundance of absolutely scrumptious food with even enough for the last person finishing (that’s me). Oh, and the volunteer team…. incredibly supportive and wonderful cheerleaders. This race now ranks as my all time favorite race. I plan to highly recommend this event experience to everyone I talk with.
