Ran the half marathon and for a runner from 20 degree temps the 72 degree start made this a very uncomfortable and difficult race. The course is ok, I would of preferred more of the race in downtown Miami. The expo was very good in a cool area of Miami. The race production was very good and had enough water stations for the warm day. The medal was one of the nicest I have ever received. I will probably run this race again in the future.

This race is a point to point race that starts in Gulfport and finishes in MGM Park stadium in Biloxi. The course is flat along the gulf coast with the exception of a incline up a highway exit ramp for about a mile. The packet pick up was easy, I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The parking and early morning shuttles to the start were very stress free. I am not sure how many water stations there were but I have never seen so many for a race before. The finish in the stadium is cool and the post race food was excellent. The shirt and medal were nice. I would recommend this race.

This was my 4th time running this race and the 4th different course route. This year’s course was good for the first couple of miles running through downtown then it was nothing special the rest of the way with the exception of a mile long stretch that honored fallin local military soldiers. This stretch was very touching and hope this continues in future races. The expo was nothing special and post race nutrition was poor. The medal and shirt were low quality. Unfortunately this seems to be the new norm for Rock n Roll races.

This race is the race to run in Philadelphia. The expo was easy to navigate and all the info you needed was right there. I liked the long sleeve shirts. The only bad thing about the race was the very long and slow security lines to get into the race corrals, it was very disorganized. The course is really good, with some inclines starting at around mile 8. The crowd support was excellent and water stations were well placed and staffed. The finish line food was ok and the medal was really nice and well designed. As far as I am concerned this race blows away the Rock n Roll half in September.

This was a enjoyable well run race. The start was easy to navigate with plenty of toilets. The course was senic with quite a few turns at the beginning. It surprisingly had more inclines than I expected. The finishers medal and post race nutrition was very good. I would definitely recommend this race as a great destination run.

This was my third Revel race and first time running Mt. Lemmon. I am becoming a big fan of Revel races. Everything about their events are first class. The pre race comunaction and instructions made morning parking and suttle a breeze. The course water stops and support was excellent. The finish line and post race nutrition was also well above above average. The medals are very nice and if you place in your age group they give you a really cool patch that wraps around the ribbon stating what place you finished. When I signed up for this half the elevation loss was a 3100 ft. But about a month before the race they changed the course. This was supposedly done to remove the early uphills in the full marathon. That meant that both races were pushed down Mt. Lemmon about 4 miles. Unfortunately for the half this removed 1000 feet of elevation loss and made the course much slower than before and also quite difficult. The first 7 miles basically lost all 2100 feet then the rest was flat with some rolling up and downhils. I ran the first 7 miles faster than I have ever ran but when the down hill ended my legs were done. I was very surprised how hard it was to run those last 5+ miles. I still finished 3rd in age group and 33rd overall but if the course was all downhill I would have probably shaved 8 minutes off my finish time. The scenery for those first 7 miles was awesome, after that not so much I’m not sure if I would run this race again on it’s current course. But if you haven’t ran it you should do it once to take in those first senic 7 miles.

Since I use RaceRaves for reading reviews for my future races I figured after running over 100 half marathons it’s about time I start sharing my own reviews.
So here we go..
This is the second CSE produced race that I have ran the first being the Fredrick Half a few years ago. I can say they do a very good job at what the do. The expo at the convention center was well organized and easy to get to by public transportation or free parking at the nearby Ravens stadium parking lot. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.
The Half starts at 9:45 am at the Inner Harbor and parking is also free at the nearby stadium lots. I stayed downtown so can’t comment on how the traffic situation was. But it could be a issue with road closures due to the full marathon 8 am start time. The race started exactly on time and had no problem with congestion at the start. The course runs through several different types of neighborhoods with pretty good crowd support all the way expecily the final half mile. Aid stations were very well organized and placed in ideal locations. This course has lots of hills throughout except for a 2 mile flat section at mile 8 that loops around a lake.
The finish line is also at the Inner Harbor, that also is the location for the post race festival.
The medal was a nice looking Crab design that opens up. Post race food was quite good with fruit, protein bars, granola bars and assorted snacks. This is a race that I really enjoyed and will probably run again in the future.
