The 13.1 mile course will take you from Spooner Summit (Hwy 28 & Hwy 50) south along the beautiful east shoreline of Lake Tahoe. There is no shortage of amazing scenery as you pass Logan Shoals, run through Cave Rock and weave along the bike path through historic Round Hill … MORE

Gorgeous course with amazing aid stations! Mostly downhill so it can be a bit hard on the knees if you’re not used to it. Be prepared for some tough uphill at times. Can not beat the scenery and race atmosphere. Medal was the same as last year, but otherwise this race rocked!

There’s a lot of downhill but there are a lot of hills though so I’d definitely recommend training hills! The views were amazing and even though the race was tough (for me) it went by super fast because the views just helped take my mind off my legs dying! Lol The aid stations were amazing and very well stocked! They had a great variety at every station and I loved the 2 big cheering sections they had, It came at the perfect time! The race was very well organized and overall I had an amazing time and would definitely do it again. So far my favorite race!

I had done a number of half marathons now but this one was a special one for me. I wanted to race above sea level this year and a great friend asked me if I wanted to join her. I was so hesitant and it took me a while to come to grips about going from 0′ to 7100′! My friend told me this is her 3rd year doing this race, I thought there must be something special. Wow I was blown away from the best swag sold at the pick up party (I literally wanted everything that said Rock Tahoe because they were all something I can wear after the race…rare!), energy from the runners, the medics on bikes looking out for folks needing to be taped up (and even a massage of tight muscles!), great aid stations, and the views along the run and the finishing sparkly gangster medal. Omg did I say the views??? I couldn’t help but stop many times to take in the views. Even with some of the moderately long hills, the emerald green water made up for it. I honestly felt so good after the race like I can just go on after. All said, one of the best races I have done and given the altitude, I was so darn proud of myself! Thank you Rock Tahoe. You gave me confidence that I never got from any other races I have done before. I now know I can push myself harder the next time (yes there is a next time!) was smiling cheek to cheek when I crossed the finish line. I simply love every moment.

This was my third time doing Rock Tahoe and I’ll be back again.
The course is moderate difficulty with plenty of downhill but some gnarly climbs in places (especially Zephyr Cove).
Race organization is superb with all information readily available and well-run shuttles to the start line. The lakeside lane of the road is kept closed so it’s a safe run too. Aid stations are fun with different non-profits competing to provide the best experience.
The pool party afterwards had awesome live music and was a great way to cool down and catch up. Highly recommend!

Keep looking to the right to see the spectacular Lake Tahoe! The race is well supported with aid stations and there are pacers if you need. There is a lot of downhill at the beginning, so get those quads ready. Grab a beer at the finish line, and cool off in the pool. Just have fun!

This was my first experience with Epic Tahoe Adventures and they did not disappoint. Although the expo was smaller than some, the check in process was one of the easiest I have gone through. The vendors that were there were generous with giveaways and discounts.

Now as far as the race goes, it was UNBELIEVABLE. Great running weather and spectacular views at every turn and even a rainbow on Lake Tahoe at the beginning. The first few miles were downhill with a few uphill just to mix it up. There were plenty of aid station starting at Mile 3 and the volunteers were the best that I have come across….very enthusiastic and fun to visit with. At Mile 10 we were diverted off the road and onto a nice paved tree lined trail and meadows that were a nice change of scenery. I made my way to the finish line and received a Kick Ass medal for my 13.1 mile journey and at that point I realized that I didn’t want it to end.

The After Party on the beaches of Lake Tahoe was the best experience I have ever been a part of following half marathon. BBQ, Tiki Hut Bar, Live Music and Dancing, Meeting fellow AWESOME runners, sharing stories and basicly kicking back and enjoying the great view of Lake Tahoe that never seems to get old. I know this was a last minute change to have it on the beach but that’s were I would have it every year……but that’s just me.

Race Directors Jason and Jess along with their staff should be very proud of this event and what they have set out to do which in my opinion is to deliver a quality event for ALL levels of runners and a KICK ASS experience that will last a lifetime…….Mission accomplished and cant wait to bring the Half Twisted Runners back in 2017. The Rock Tahoe Half Marathon definitely ROCKED my weekend……Thanks guys!!!!!!
