Bee-lieve it, girlfriend. There’s a women’s half marathon in Cincinnati. The Queen Bee Half Marathon is on a mission: to promote the fun of fitness while raising support and funds for local charities that focus on women. Race weekend will include plenty of pampering, swag, and fun—the perfect ingredients for … MORE

This course is parts of the Flying Pig Course. Great scenery in nice. Toughest part is the first few miles of incline and ends fairly flat. Decent crowds along course. Hydration station folks are on it. Only issue, and I get men starting in the last corral because it is a women’s race, is all the women walking starting at the start line. I wasn’t able to get to a good pace until the pool/lake about 2 miles in due to groups and lines of participants stretched across the road. Good party at the end. Listening to a lot of multiple time runners of the event, this race is always cold and they wished it was a week earlier than it is planned. Great event for women and men but geared towards women.

First, the expo was amazing and the swag is top notch! The ASICS Queen Bee shirt (and optional running wear) is such a great addition to your closet of running gear. The race is hilly and winds up and around Cincinnati so prepare yourself. If it weren’t for the Worker Bees, the Cincinnati first responders, and all of the spectators that lined the whole course I don’t know if I would’ve gotten my first sub-2hr Half Marathon! The constant support and excitement of everyone was so positive and I feel privileged to have run with such and enthusiastic group of women, through such a beautiful city!! This will be a race I’ll do for years to come..

The course is tough but the incredible crowd support and camaraderie with the other runners is the BEST! There is so much encouragement both on & off the course. Crossing the finish line, you’ll find other runners celebrating with you, embracing you & congratulating you on your PR or completing the race. There seem to be no strangers on this day. The post-race festivities are also incredible. This is my favorite half for these reasons. If you’re looking for your first half marathon- this is the one to choose!

I’m new to the race running world and this is my second half marathon ever a d this year! Running the hill first was different ( compared with the half pig marathon) but got good cardio from get go! I had a hard time with last 4-5 miles. They seemed boring compared with the first part of the race.

This is a fun race that has a lot of support throughout the course. The expo is large, the medal is awesome, and the aid stations are frequent and lively. This is an excellent race for solo racers or groups of girlfriends – and men are welcome too. Lots of entertainment through the course as well. An uplifting experience with many frills. And you get a mimosa at the end! Cheers.

I might be biased since this was the race I did for my first half marathon but it’s really an awesome race – this was my third go-around
    – love the girl power! so many women surrounding you: participants, fans, volunteers… it’s a great energy
    – medals are always cute – this year had blinking lights on top of the bee’s crown to go with the Cincinnati local art event (Blink)
    – good amount of skill to finish – about 5 major hills and the rest is steady inclines
    – though this is definitely for the ladies… was great to see the men running along with their wives/sisters/friends/solo!!
    – great treats along the way (all queen or bee themed)
    – last mile has quotes all from women in history to get you to the finish line

    definitely would recommend this race!

Queen bee is such an amazing experience from the amazing expo, the fantastic encouragement along the course, the numerous aid stations, the bling and the swag.

This was a perfect weekend with my best friend. This was the first race I have not actually raced, and my focus was about pacing her to a Personal Best…and she did by 5 minutes! Our husbands were there to support us, and they were able to easily access different cheer spots.

I was a little intimidated by the elevation chart, but the hills really weren’t bad at all.

Queen bee is a race I want to run every year, I highly recommend it!

The staff and volunteers are very uplifting, and it is so much fun. This year I was supposed to run the half again and decided to switch to the 4 miler a couple weeks before due to my foot bothering me. It was still so much fun! This race is so welcoming to new runners, experienced runners and us women get to do it all together! How empowering?! You start the weekend with a girls day at the expo and get all sorts of goodies and pictures, then you run the race with the GREATEST support I have ever had in a race. I’ve run lots of races and the cheerleaders, the candy and the smiles along the way- it truly makes all the difference. I will be back to the QueenBee no doubt!

My first time participating in the queen bee half and it won’t be my last! The course is packed with spectators cheering you on and handing out snacks such as chocolates, twizzlers, granola, fruit, gumdrops, cookies, etc. Too many to list. It’s a slightly hilly course, but with beautiful scenery. I even set a new pr, beating my fastest time by 8 min. The swag is the best of all my previous races. They weren’t stingy! The expo is HUGE!
