Ranked as one of the top half marathons in the country, the Fueled By Fine Wine is a race like no other. Sure, there are wine-focused races. Sure, there are beautiful courses. But nowhere will you find the combination of world-class wine tasting and a one-of-a-kind course snaking across gorgeous vineyards and vistas.
Rooted in the Dundee Hills, the FBFW actually traverses the wineries and hills that make up the heart of our tasting tent. You will be tested by the hills but REWARDED by the wine! The course features a mix of dirt, grass, and roads as you weave your way across some of the most acclaimed vineyards in the Northwest. If you like flat road courses, this race is not for you. If you love challenging yourself, amazing wine, and creating a memory that will last forever with your friends, this is for you!
Wine tasting: Yes, this is the whole reason we’re out here! A star-studded lineup of DHWA wineries will be serving you wine under individual tasting tents throughout the park. Take your commemorative wine glass and choose the wineries you have always wanted to test. Have a friend or loved one that doesn’t run? Not a problem! You can actually buy a separate tasting ticket for $40 (valued at over 3 times that amount) and they’ll get a commemorative glass and all the wine tasting too!
THE SWAG: Cute shirts and huge beautiful medals and commemorative bibs and chip timing. What else would you expect!?

I signed up for this race because it was on my 46th birthday and I had only previously run 5k’s. It was well organized, the course was gorgeous and quite the challenge. There are paved roads, gravel, grass and running straight through the vineyards. Afterwords we got a lovely wine glass with plenty of tasting opportunities, croissants, cheese and plenty more to eat. The technical race shirt we got is perfect for actually using for other runs. I hope to make this a yearly event for me!

I can’t consider this race a “race” because there’s just no way someone can effectively “race” and enjoy the views and scenery. My friends and I came for the views and the wine! I set a new “Personal Worst” and it was totally worth it too!
The Course is crazy hilly, but unbelievably beautiful! You run through the vineyards (that is, in between the rows of vines as well as along farm roads), including several vineyards and wineries. The views at the tops of hills are amazing! You’re totally missing out if you try to race this event.
The post race swag & party includes a wine glass and an abundance of wine tasting tables. We hung out the whole afternoon, drank wine and had a blast! This is a definite return race. Makes for a great weekend trip with friends!

I can’t believe I’m the first person to review this race! It was absolutely the most challenging half marathon I’ve ever run, but also one of the most beautiful races I’ve done too. If you want to truly immerse yourself in a race that is all about wineries and vineyards, this is the race for you. Unlike the Napa to Sonoma race where you run on paved roads that connect the towns of Napa and Sonoma, the Fueled by Fine Wine race stays in the Dundee Hills region and you run past 7-8 wineries and run through their vineyards. Therefore you are doing a lot of trail running on dirt paths and uneven terrain, but you’ve got vineyards on either side of you. There is hardly any flat in this course – if you aren’t running uphill, you’re running downhill, but when you reach uphill you can stop and take a look at 360 degree views of the Willamette Valley. Amazing! The race production was fantastic – nice medal, great technical shirt, and a wine glass at the finish. The post-race wine festival on Stoller property was under a tent where about 40 wineries served unlimited tastings of their wine. Support along the course were water/electrolyte stops every 2 miles or so, but really no spectators to cheer you on except volunteers at the water stops. This was the 10th anniversary of this race, and I heard the current race director is turning over control to a new management company so I hope consecutive races are just as nice. It’s a spectacular race! You will be so glad you did it.
