This was my first big city marathon. Expo was ok. The bus shuttle to and from the race was well planned and the process ran smoothly. They even let spectators ride. I didn’t like having to go through security in the runners zone. Spectators weren’t allowed in. Plenty of aid stations and volunteers. Course was somewhat flat with some rolling hills in the middle. I ended up with about 700 feet of elevation. A ton of crowd support made the miles fly by. Huge medal! I would definitely recommend.

I’m a big Rock’n’Roll fan and this was one of the races on my list. Out of all the RNR’s this course was the most challenging but the beautiful scenery made it all worth it. There’s, no easing into it, you begin to climb in the first mile and continue to climb until around mile 6 where the course takes you downhill and levels out the rest of the course. Plenty to see and lots of opportunities to take pictures. Lots or aid stations and cold towels at the finish. Swag was ok. Food was typical.

I don’t think there’s a race in Raleigh that is not hilly and this race is no exception. The course is mainly on the paved greenways with lots of rolling hills. The course begins downhill, running through the neighborhood before entering the greenway. The course has 2 out and backs one two different greenway trails before ending with the final mile climb to finish. The elevation for the last mile is 176 feet. Great volunteers. Ok bling.
