Full disclosure, I don’t like the traditional Corporate Woods course. This one was modified and much better, avoiding the parking lot part being repeated.
There was no hand sanitizer in the portajohns, which, considering the low turnout, definitely didn’t happen that morning. The medal was a real “phone it in” design, which just looked like the marketing icon for the Hyvee race series sign. No year, no location, could be the same medal every year. Wouldn’t know.
The good news is the aid stations were well spaced, staffed by highly motivated volunteers who handed out water and gatorade, and GU was available at the end of the race at the last 3 or 4 aid stations. As I stated earlier, it was the best modification of Corporate Woods I’ve done, and I’ve done a number of them.
Will I do this race again? Probably not. Would I race this course again? Yeah probably. If they came back with a nicer medal would I come back for it? Absolutely.
