I ran the spring version of this race. Plenty of parking right across from the start. I liked that from the start, you run up one and a half miles turn around run three point something miles, then turn around and run up again passing the start/finish Frequently. For me, mentally this was nice.
The weather on the spring day I ran April 12, 2025 was 40° and misty drizzly. Passing the start was nice because I could access my bag. The volunteers were extremely kind and unscrewed my water bottles. They served water bottles at both turnarounds and the start/finish, which also had music.
Overall, I was pleased with my performance on this challenging day. The course was flat. The sea was pretty. There was a wind there were surfers, but not many cyclists. I think on a busy boardwalk day it might get annoying. We had the place to ourselves! I enjoyed the urban beach vibe. There were only 13 people who finished the full, but there were a lot of people running the half.

Four loop marathon on the boardwalk. very good hydration station support to cheer everyone on. difficult having to deal with all the bikes and other visitors using the boardwalk especially as the day went on and sun came out. The mid 80’s finish weather after a rain was difficult. The website was confusing as well as start time for this race differed from other Rockaway events
