Right in Sammamish, Soaring Eagle Regional Park is a very popular destination for runners and hikers alike with easy-to-access trailheads. It’s relatively flat compared to some of our other races but has some sections with large roots.
The distances offered for the Evergreen Soaring Eagle Trail Run are 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon. Fully stocked Aid Stations every 3-4 miles will give runners plenty of places to fuel up. We will have water, Nuun, Clif Shots/Bloks/Bars, PB&J sandwiches, fruit, cookies, pretzels, and more. And as always there will be an assortment of food and beverages after the race.
This is a cupless race. All runners should carry with them a refillable container that they can run with. There will be a limited number of cups for emergency situations.
The trails will be open to other users during the event, including equestrians (allowed on the trails but seldom encountered), pedestrians and cyclists. Horses do have the right of way, and if you encounter a horse in your path, stop running, step off the path, and let the horse past, unless the rider tells you that it is okay to walk past. Please be courteous. Where the trails are narrow, please let other participants pass you if they want to get by. It is a passing runner’s job to tell the person in front that they wish to pass.
