This is a great run with a fun loop. I had to remind myself often to PICK UP YOUR FEET! Lots of roots and loose rocks, tripping galore. I even saw one lady fall! There’s some congestion partway through the first loop due to shorter courses starting and sharing the path.
I’ve seen a black bear on it (not on this date) so head’s up and make some noise.
Path clearly marked, thank GOD because the trails out there fork every 1/4 mile it seems. The swag is cool – hand carved magnet.
I was disappointed that they moved the 10.5 aid/fuel station back almost a mile. Was confused, and really needed it at 10.5! The volunteer just shrugged when I asked and said, “Oh yeah we moved back.” Would be nice to know before the race started.
Also, some of the vendors were closing up when I finished. The non-alcoholic beer guy was packed up. I wasn’t in last place, so many of us missed that and maybe other vendors. Even last place should be able to benefit from the freebies at the end. So that was disappointing.
It was fun, but there’s definitely a handful of dudes that take up a lot of space, come up hot on your heels, even if you’ve moved as far over as possible. One even touched and pressed my back as he passed. Don’t touch other runners.
