About Me

  • Running club(s):
  • Rave race:
  • Race that's calling my name:
  • I run because:

    It sets my mind free from the stress of the rest of my life. I’m brand new at running after losing over 130lbs. For the first time in my life, I feel like I can accomplish physical tasks that were not so long ago unthinkable. Not too shabby for the person that flunked P/E all through school and was the worst / last at all sports.

This was a well supported run. We did two loops of a 10K course with three aid stations provided. The trails were fairly well marked. This park has a variety of terrain and challenges to it. Overall, enjoyable. Definitely put me through my paces.

This was a relatively flat, mostly shaded paved trail that was in good shape. the trail goes through woods, a town or two and farmland so it was interesting. MORE

Overall, this is a good course, fairly well maintained. Lots of smooth rocks that were easy to kick loose in the dry dirt, so need to watch out for those. The tree roots also kept you on your toes. Easy elevation gains and declines. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

This course is right along Birch Bay, through the state park and town streets along waterfront. The course is well supported – we had four aid stations on the 15K route. Lots of fuel for during and after the race. Looking forward to running this again next year.

This park has a great set up. Trail is full of twists, turns, creeks, stairs and the like. The course is rated as beginner, but it still has plenty of challenges so have to watch where you are stepping. Evergreen Trail Runs completion swag is minimalist but neat. I love the wood carvings. Dash Point is a coaster, so will think of the race whenever use it.

This is a great trail with plenty of hills and thrills, especially for a beginner like me. The mud puddles increased the challenge and made me very glad I wore my best trail runners. I may have weeble and wobbled at times, but I did not fall down! The support crew was awesome! So encouraging and great on explaining the basics to this beginner. Already looking forward to attacking this trail again next year.

Even though this trail is about 5 miles from my home, this was the first time I’d ever been on it. It was a great trail with variety of surfaces, open fields, bridges, narrow trails, mud, trees, etc. The event organizers were awesome! Everyone was very encouraging.
