It was a nice race. I liked that it was a point to point course. Course was mostly flat and slight downhill grades, but there are a few small hills sprinkled in every few miles. Course support was very good. The majority of the course is through the country side so very little fan support there, but once you got into the town there were tons of fans cheering you on. Race directors kept us well informed and everything ran very smoothly. Even though there were over 600 runners the race still had the small time race charm to it. The only things that I didn’t care for was the packet pick up was basically grab your bib, shirt and go. No expo or anything. But that’s ok since it probably prevented me from buying another pair of running shoes😂. The bus shuttle could have left later. Everyone was standing around in the middle of nowhere after being bused to the start for well over an hour. Bozeman was a fun city, the people were very nice, polite and courteous. If the winters weren’t so brutal, I would consider moving there. Other than feeling the effects of the higher elevation the race was great and I’d highly recommend it.

Great race production, kudos to the race directors for keeping runners up to date with emails of information about the race. Very well organized!!! Lots of course support and a well marked course. Course is a little challenging with steady uphill grades for most of the way. I kept waiting to crest the hill to be able to run downhill and it never came😂. Being a low lander I could feel the change in elevation and it took me about 41/2 miles to finally catch my breath. Only part of the race I didn’t like was when we made that final left turn with about a mile to go and you joined the 5k walkers & runners. The road got very crowded with people walking side by side forcing you to weave in and out of people which after running 12 miles was a pain. Overall I really enjoyed the race and would recommend it.

Ran this 5k as a little tune up before my half marathon the next day. Course was flat and well marked running half on the road and half on a running path. Race directors did a good job keeping runners informed via emails and event was well organized. The high elevation 6200+ feet about killed me though😂. Only complaint is at the finish there wasn’t any cups or anything to use to drink water with from the water jugs. I later found out you were supposed to carry some type of disposable paper cup with you. They did have milk at the finish which to me personally would be very nauseating to drink right after running. Overall the race was good.

Race was fairly well organized, I liked the way they kept me updated on the race (except for that email about the course change that added 300 meters to the 1/2, more on this later lol.) Course wasn’t too difficult with a long downhill start so your first couple of miles will be faster than your anticipated race pace goal. Course winds through the paved trail along the coast and was marked very well. The only major hills were those last extra 300 meters going to the finish line, definite quad burners. Getting to the race was very easy and stress free. My only complaint about the course was at about the 8 or 9 mile mark when the lead runners, marathoners, walkers and general public trail users were all sharing the same trail. There were people going in all directions and it was very crowded forcing you to weave in and out of people while trying to avoid people coming at you in the opposite direction for about 3-4 miles. Also the expo should not be called an expo. There are more exhibits at your local 5k. The race shirts left a lot to be desired, very drab and plain. The free finisher’s shirt was a million times nicer. Medal was nice. A big plus was being able to go to the scorer’s table and get your award right away, no waiting around for hours. Overall it was an ok race and I got to visit Alaska and check off another state.

The course wasn’t too difficult but kind of boring. Second part of half was on winding paved bike trails which made it kind of Ho hum. There were plenty of aid stations with enthusiastic workers handing out drinks. Lots of crowd support at finish line. Finish line refreshments consisted of the typical water, sports drink and bananas. Expo was pretty much a waste and the shirt would’ve been nice if it didn’t include a hood. I mean a long sleeve tee shirt with a hood??? Maybe it’s a younger generation thing but to me I think they’re awful. All in all it just a very plain race.

The course itself is mostly flat with the exception of a long hill at apprx 6.5 miles and a few other small hills sprinkled in during the last miles of the half. Running through the military mile was especially somber with the photos of the fallen displayed on the sides of the road. A lot of twists and turns on the course as you wind through various neighborhoods. Support on the course was good. Only real complaint was the ugly shirt. Lol If you’re looking for a good destination race this is a good choice. San Antonio is a fun city with a lot to offer and you can’t beat the nice December weather.

Almost the reverse course of the 1st 10 miles of the marathon. Race corrals were very well organized. No expo just packet pick up at local running store. Race shirts were crap. Overall it was a very well organized race and a fast course. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a fall race.

I traveled from Pennsylvania to run this race and have run all over the country so here’s my review. The going out part of the course is slightly downhill so you guessed it the return trip is slightly uphill. It’s not difficult though. Great support along the course. Which was good cause it got hot fast. The army had the best water stop at the 1/2 marathon turnaround. I don’t know what happened but for some reason the chip in my bib did not record my time. I actually was 1st in my age group 50-54. I was hoping the finish line photos would have shown the clock as I crossed but they didn’t. Oh well stuff happens. They really need to stop calling it an expo. 3 booths of people trying to sign you up for phone service, insurance or recruitment into the army hardly qualifies as an expo. The shirt was awful. No thought or time went into the design. The finisher medal wasn’t bad, it’s about the size of a softball and made of metal. It would have been nicer if it had the date on it. All in all it wasn’t the worst race I’ve ever run, but for a race that’s been around as long as this one has it should be a lot better in my opinion. I wouldn’t go out of my way to run it.

I really enjoyed running in Tulsa. The course was great. Race and expo were well organized everyone was very helpful and friendly. The most challenging part of the course was along the river where you had to endure 30mph winds and the ramp coming into downtown at about mile 12 of the half. Other than that it was a great race. If you’re looking for a destination race I strongly recommend this race. Tulsa is a fun town with lots of good restaurants and they do a great job hosting a race.
