Opening caveat ~ weather was terrible and influenced both my experience and my performance. I’m a Florida girl so running in 51degrees and steady rain for 90% of this race was, well, um, not cool. And also something the organizers can’t control.
There is a pretty steep, long hill late in Mile 1 – Mile 2. Thank goodness it’s there and not later in the run. (Did I mention, I’m a Florida girl …we don’t have hills, just bridges.) There was also a muddy loop about Mile 8 that probably wasn’t 1 mile long but seems like 5 miles. This trashed everyone’s shoes I expect … it did mine.
Good amount of water/electrolytes available on course. Some of the mile markers seemed off from my watch (& I feel like there were some missing on the Lake Washington Blvd out route, but I may just have been distracted talking to a fellow runner).
The size of this race was pretty much ideal for the course (I think there were a lot of no-shows due to the weather). It was never a crush of people. Overall a good race … just bad weather.

The course itself is poorly marked. I was near the front and at least once saw someone go off course because the markings were not enough, even though there were quite a few people around. The finish chute somehow is also poorly marked and I missed it on the second loops and had to double back.
