Had a great time racing this fast and scenic course. My first Orca Running event, will definitely be exploring future races with them. Good post race atmosphere. Great local feel. MORE

My first non Snowmass Ragnar and it was a mixed bag. The concept of Ragnar is great, the views of Rainier are amazing, the gondola system for loops is sweet. But sadly 95% of the “runners” I saw all weekend were walking every loop, even the downhill. The course is just far too difficult for what is a mass participation event for many recreational runners. For example, the yellow loop is 2500 feet in 4.9 miles. I was only able to run 90% of it because I am a runner who runs 80+ miles a week. The downhill was very dangerous with many rocks and branches. This is amplified by runners having to run in the night/dark. The medic tent was busy all weekend. They really need to find some different trails. Wouldn’t recommend, sadly.

This is an amazing race, terrific views of London, epic photos (only $20 for all), and a fast field for great racing. Around 17000 runners on closed central London street makes this a must if you’re in the area. The course does have a few gradual climbs and the weather was very hot/humid this year but I had a blast

Was really looking forward to this race but it was a bit of an organizational disaster, adding further stress to the hot/humid conditions. Race was delayed at last minute (4:30AM) and the queue for the shuttles/buses took over an hour. As a result I arrived just before my wave (A) was starting. Long queues for toilets meant I decided to run in wave B – only for them to scrap the waves last minute and do rolling start. Started behind 10000 runners and was impossible to PR. Pulled out around mile 20

A great, challenging team relay event that I would recommend. Fun atmosphere, great running loops and good facilities in and around the Snowmass rec center. The 3 runs are challenging but rewarding and the trails are smooth.

A huge event, with 50,000 runners racing around the streets of Boulder. Is it an easy 10K? Nope! Does the altitude suck? Yes! Are there an necessary number of hills? Sure. But is it an amazing spectacle? You bet! Don’t do this for the PB, do it for the fun of racing and that stadium finish.

One of the best produced/run events I’ve done. As professional as one of the major marathons without all the added complexity. Fantastic to be sheltered in the convention center pre race. Fast course, was nice and cold this year. Would run either the 13.1 or 26.2 again!

Pros: amazing spectators, interesting course, lots of toilets in the start area, good aid stations, mild weather (this year), great race shirt, fun shakeout runs
Cons: it’s not the fastest course out there, disappointing expo, scenery not as great as people suggest.
Overall: highly recommend
