David Grudzien's Staging Area

This was a good 5K race and made better by the fact that it was tied to a marathon & half the next day for an additional challenge medal. The course was nice, very scenic and mostly flat. Definitely recommended.

This is a great race. I ran the 10K last year and the 5K this year and would go back any chance I get. It is a fairly large race with great organization and a great, flat course along the Lakefront. The course support is awesome. Overall this is one of my favorite events.

The Mainly Marathons events are my favorite racing events, period. They do a great job of catering to the runners and the overall organization of these events are down right awesome. I highly recommend any of their race series.

Overall, the race organization was recommended to me based on their Indianapolis races, so my expectations were for an overall positive experience, at a minimum. It did NOT deliver. Although the course was flat and not difficult, the scenery was pretty boring. They did have ample water stops, but of the final five stops 3 were out of cups and the last one was out of water. The volunteers improvised and filled the cups with ice, A great idea! As for the medals, they ran out before I finished. The one redeeming point is that they had awesome technical sleeveless shirts…….worth doing the race…….almost.

These races are very well run, plenty of aid, a super easy course to run. If it weren’t for the heat at that time of year the course would easily be a PR course. They do a great job with having just about anything you could want at the aid station.

This represents the first of two separate races on this date, one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. Overall the races were well organized and supported. The courses were flat, but there was limited views, which made for a moderately boring course.

Really enjoyed this race. The course is very scenic, passing many of Boston’s iconic sites. The start finish area was well done. The course support was terrific, scattered groups of “cheer groups” through out the course.

This is a very well run race. Great organization, great fast & mostly flat course and the post race activities are above average. The first 10 miles are totally flat and run in a park/preserve area and the final 3.1 miles ate along the Gulf road with a very gradual incline. Be aware that at that time of the year the winds in the last 3 miles can be strong.

I was not able to run this year due to an injury, but enjoyed playing cheer squad for a number of friends who did run the race. I have run it twice in the past and would not hesitate to do it again. the terrain is varied between down hill, flat and uphill. The race is very well organized. The only improvement that needs to be addressed is that packet pick up is not open late enough (closes at 4pm) for us out-of-towners.
