I served as the official 2:45 pacer for this half marathon. This was also my first time running this race.
This race is absolutely amazing. This race is so much fun, and at the same time is a meaningful way to honor fallen first responders.
Bib pickup at the expo on Saturday was super smooth. Race day logistics were clear, and a good range of parking and lodging options were offered.
The course itself is the absolute best. I appreciated and loved every step of this route. Some rolling hills, some uneven surfaces but hey: this is Boston. The race website describes it as an historic tour of Boston and it truly is. An added bonus was being cheered on by a huge group of first responders. Aid stations were plentiful and the volunteers were amazing.
Finish line festivities were top notch. Plenty of snacks, music, and fun. The medal is probably among my top 5 favorite medals— and I have A LOT of medals.
In short, this half marathon is not to be missed.

I participated as one of the official 2:40 pacers for this race.
Bib pickup was super smooth, there was plenty of parking right at the start line. Course was very pretty, some rolling hills but very manageable. Aid stations were great (though maybe one more water stop towards the end would have been good, as it was a hot day) and ALL the volunteers were amazing. Finish line festivities were fantastic— pizza, snacks, margaritas, and music (any race with Michael Bernier is top notch). Love the medal and swag. Shuttles back to the parking lot were smooth. This was a super fun race that’s not to be missed!

I participated as the 2:40 pacer for this race.
Overall this was a fun race, though there were some logistical challenges.
The positives: Bib pickup was smooth. The course itself was beautiful, ALL the volunteers were absolutely amazing. The medal and shirt are great. Post/race festivities were fun, though I didn’t stay long. The aid stations will plentiful and well supplied..
The not/so-positives: Parking for the shuttle to the start line was a mess. At Beach Acres, volunteers were having drivers back into spaces, which, when coupled with the sheer volume of cars arriving, caused major backups and delays. It felt like there was an unnecessarily and weirdly long walk to the start line. At least one of the mile markers was over half mile off, and.the course seemed to run a little short; my watch came up at 13:05 and a lot of others reported the same or similar times. The line for gear check was unusually slow and long. Likewise, the shuttles back to the parking areas seemed slow because the lines for that were also enormous.
That all being said, it was a good race run by good people, and hopefully they can look at some of the issues that runners encountered and fix them for next year.

This was my first time running this and it was amazing. Race registration was easy, communication from the race company was clear. Bib pickup was race-morning only and was very smooth. Plenty of parking options on race morning! Swag consisted of a tech shirt, running socks, and drawstring bag— all awesome. The race started right on time. The course was very clearly marked and the ocean views were SPECTACULAR. There were no road closures so navigating some of the busy/narrow roads was a challenge, but there were lots of local police directing traffic, which helped a lot! Aid stations were plentiful. Finish line festivities included some of the best post race food I’ve ever had— sandwiches, cookies, donuts, fruit, drinks— you name it. The medal in the shape of Massachusetts is wonderful. And a big shoutout to ALL the incredible volunteers; the whole vibe was just so friendly and positive. Thank you!

This race was rescheduled from Superbowl Sunday due to the weather, but it was still a great time! Registration and bib pickup was easy. Race day logistics were easy as well— plenty of parking and direction. Fun start line vibes with great music. The course was well marked with plenty of amazing volunteers. Swag consists of a long sleeved tech shirt which I love. Post race party with plenty of snacks and hot soup which really hit the spot! Another top notch Millennium event!

This is a small race, meant to help runners prepare for Boston in April. I am not running the Boston marathon this year, but I wanted a good winter challenge and this race definitely delivered.
Registration and race day check-in were smooth. There was a big snowstorm rolling in on race day, and everyone was encouraged to take advantage of the early start. This proved to be a wonderful option for me, a slower runner. The storm started when I was about halfway through which added to the already challenging, hilly course. Through it all, though. The greater Derry track club and volunteers made it safe and enjoyable. Aid stations were well maintained, and volunteers took care to make sure that the water and Gatorade did not freeze on us. We were met with smiles and cheers at every point.
My goal was simply to finish in under three hours, and I accomplished that!
Swag is great— love my long sleeved shirt and pint glass!
There was an amazing after party with hot chocolate, coffee, snacks, and soup. There was also a later party with especially crafted beer, but I wasn’t able to attend that.Overall, a gem of a race! Don’t miss if you’re preparing for Boston or another Spring marathon.

Disclaimer: I served as one of the 2:50 pacers for this race.
The Jingle Bell Half has changed a lot since I ran it in 2015 (as my very first half marathon), but it remains a well-run, festive and fun race. There was ample free parking at the start, bib pickup was smooth. There was a wonderful holiday vibe with Christmas music at the start (plus the amazing Michael Bernier)!
The course was moderately hilly with some pretty farm views mixed in. The course was well marked. There were plenty of well stocked aid stations and the volunteers were all fantastic.
I wasn’t able to stick around for the post race festivities so I can’t comment on that.
The swag was great— love my medal, hoodie and beanie! Thank you for this holly jolly race experience!

I’ve participated in the relay several times, and today was my second time running the full. This event never disappoints. Bib pickup is always smooth. The start line is always easy to navigate, with water, med tents, and plenty of volunteers to assist. The course itself is hilly, but if you live in New England, you’ll be fine. Aid stations are plentiful and have plenty of water, Gatorade, and fuel. As always, the volunteers are AMAZING. The shirt is great and the medal is gorgeous!
Whether you want to run a 5k, relay, half marathon or full marathon, there’s something for everyone. 10/10 will always recommend!

This was my first time running Marine Corps Marathon, and while there were plenty of logistical issues (presumably because there were A LOT more runners this year), there were plenty more blessings.
The not-so-great: Getting to/leaving the race was a little rough. We were encouraged to take the metro, but I think the huge volume of runners this year overwhelmed the system. There wasn’t a lot of direction at Runners Village at the start, either.
Be prepared for lots of walking, both at the start and the finish.
Aid stations were plentiful but there were just too many runners for the marines to keep up. Likewise , there were lots of porta potties, but because there were SO many runners this year the lines were consistently long.
Course was crowded, and it made it difficult at times to navigate.
Now the good:
The Marines were absolutely amazing and encouraging at every mile. They tirelessly gave out water and cheers.
Words can’t express how it feels to experience The Blue Mile— beautiful and moving.
The course itself was amazing— lots of great views.
Great music, entertainment and crowd support all along the race!
Finishing at the Iwo Jima memorial and having a Marine place that medal around your neck, congratulate and salute you— humbling and beautiful.
The swag is first rate. Medal is amazing, finisher’s jacket is great. The blanket and Superman poncho are beautiful and so special.
Overall, this was a fantastic day. I didn’t run my fastest marathon, but I finished strong and respectably. Thank you!

Don’t miss this fun, well organized race in the heart of Portland Maine.
This was my second time running this half, and I loved it even more this year. I ran a good race and finished strong— and had a great time.
Bib pickup was smooth— the location was much more accessible than last year. Great swag— the high quality, full zip hoodie is my new favorite.
Start line was well organized, with great music and energy.
The route was nice, in spite of lots of fog and a little leftover rain — having run it last year I know there are some beautiful views. There were a couple of bottlenecks early on, presumably due to narrow-ish paths and navigation around big puddles, but nothing big.
The course was very well marked, and was moderately challenging with some good hills toward the end.
Aid stations were plentiful and well stocked. The volunteers were absolutely amazing and encouraging. Great crowd support too!
Finish line amenities were excellent. Plenty of fresh fruit, granola bars, water … and Carolina Rice, which is a first for me but I think it was great.
Love the medal, too!
I wasn’t able to stay for any post race festivities so I can’t comment on that.
Overall, this half marathon is now one of my very favorites. Don’t miss it!

Well managed, well supported, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Bib pickup at the expo was smooth and there were plenty of Revel folks to answer questions. The pre-dawn shuttle to the start was well managed. It was cold and rainy at the start and there were plenty of extra Mylar blankets, gloves and good humor to get us through. Gear check was smooth.
Late start meant extra time standing in the chilly rain, which wasn’t great but didn’t detract from the positive energy.
The net downhill course was challenging. Note to future runners: be aware of how much the Kanc pitches— I was fighting to stay level and losing 😂. Very few spectators which made for a peaceful race. Unfortunately it was chilly and rainy so the scenery wasn’t as vibrant as could be but still very nice.
Aid stations were well stocked and plentiful, and volunteers were AMAZING.
Swag was great— love my shirt and the bibboards were a nice touch. Beautiful medal as well.
I do wish there had been an option for start line parking, or at least drop off. The 6AM start meant a 3:15 shuttle, so it was hard to be well rested.
This was my 11th lifetime marathon; nowhere near a PR for me but I’m so proud to have successfully finished this one.
Overall a great race that I’d recommend!

If you want a top-notch race experience in Rhode Island, look no further than the Amica Newport Marathon.
Registration and communication were excellent, and bib pickup was easy. My experience with the shuttle was positive.
There was a wonderful energy at the start— music, a warmup, plus a beautiful sunrise on Easton’s beach. There were also plenty of amenities like water and snacks, and more than enough porta-potties.
The course was challenging but so beautiful. Plenty of ocean views and mansions. Lots of fantastic crowd support. Aid stations were plentiful and the volunteers were so enthusiastic and friendly.
Finish line festivities were so much fun, plenty of food and drinks for the runners. Swag was great too— I love my shirt and medal.

I’ve run many half-marathons, but this was my first in California. I was so excited to travel from New Hampshire to run this race and visit family while I was there.
I paid $25 to have my bib mailed to me ahead of time. I made MANY attempts to contact the race company ahead of time to make sure I’d have it before flying to CA. Eventually they got back to me to say they would mail it 10 days ahead of the race. Long story short, I did NOT get my personalized bib before I flew to CA. Fortunately I was able to go to a bib pickup to get a new bib with minimal hassle. I did email them post-race to ask for some kind of refund for the mailed bib; I paid $25, it cost them $1.39 in postage plus whatever the envelope cost and they could not be bothered to even reply, much less offer some kind of refund.
The race itself was great. Wonderful energy, well marked route, plentiful aid stations. The course is beautiful with some good rolling hills. The post race festivities were a blast. Shirt and medal are really nice.
To sum up, this is a great race but the race company needs to do far better with communicating with participants. And the policy of charging $25 to mail a bib that may or may not get to a participant in time isn’t a good one.

This is a well- run, well-attended and beautiful half-marathon. A can’t-miss for NH races.
This is a bigger race, so it’s worth getting to the start line early! We enjoyed seeing the sunrise on the beach before the 8am start. Parking is paid and the city enforces that!
The start was crowded but well managed and the energy was fantastic.
The course was well marked, mostly flat, and well supported with water/Gatorade stations. There were plenty of ocean views and lots of enthusiastic spectators and musicians.
The finish line food and refreshments were great. Lobster rolls, veggie wraps, chowder— it was perfect. There was beer available or soda for those who prefer— it was a little weird that beer was 1 ticket while soda was 2 tickets, but not a big deal IMO. The continued live music was the icing on the cake.
Swag is top notch. One of my new favorite hoodies plus a sweet medal.
This is one of the best half marathons I’ve ever run, and I’ve run quite a few. Highly recommend!

This was my first time running the Wicked half marathon, though I had run B&S’ Devil’s Chase and Black Cat in the past. As usual, B&S did not disappoint! The course was well marked and well supported. The views were amazing and the volunteers were first-rate. Proceeds benefitted the Salem Food Pantry, Salem Children’s Charity and Fit Girls Marblehead; Salem is one of my favorite cities as my Mom grew up there, and I’m so happy to support any local charities that B&S supports. This has quickly become my favorite fall half marathon and I plan on doing it again next year! 10/10 highly recommend.

This was my 6th lifetime marathon and my first time running Clarence DeMar.
Runners received excellent communication from the race director in the months and weeks leading up to the race. All the pre race instructions for race day parking, pre race bib pickup, and spectator guidelines were clear and timely. I’m grateful that COVID restrictions were followed while still allowing a fun time.
Bib pickup the day before was convenient and easy.
I didn’t sign up for the pasta dinner BUT I serendipitously met the keynote speaker, Bill Rodgers, in the hotel lobby!
The weather was perfect on race day morning. The course was absolutely stunning — perfect New England fall scenery. Plenty of rolling hills but no crazy elevation.
Aid stations were plentiful. We were told far in advance that there would be only water and Gatorade; the race provided no additional fuel on the course. Fine with me as I prefer to carry my own food anyway. The volunteers were absolutely wonderful— kind, and encouraging at every stop. My only suggestion would be to add at least 1 more porta-potty stop between miles 1 and 10.
There were long, quiet stretches, but also lots of portions with tons of spectator support. So nice to be cheered on by the locals. The group at around mile 23 that had a spread of snacks and drinks for runners were the absolute BEST.
Due to Covid restrictions, family wasn’t allowed at the finish line, but race volunteers made up for it with lots of cheering and encouragement. I’m a slower marathoner, but I felt just as supported and special as an elite runner.
Overall, this was a near perfect experience. Fantastic race run by some clearly wonderful people. My favorite marathon so far.

*Lovely, mostly flat, double-loop scenic marathon course.
*Parking on race day was 1 mile from the start. Parking was plentiful, the marshals were efficient. Shuttles ran frequently and reliably. Very smooth.
*Aid stations were plentiful.
*There weren’t many spectators along the route; of course, that may have been due to the race-day rain, but my understanding is that this is somewhat typical. As one of the less-speedy marathoners, I found myself nearly alone for stretches in the second loop— no complaints about that, as it actually felt very peaceful and lovely to me.
*The course was adequately marked.
*Swag was a well-made tech shirt and one of the prettiest medals I’ve ever seen. Both among my favorites!
*Every volunteer I encountered was absolutely amazing. Every single roadside volunteer met us runners with smiles, cheers, fuel, water, etc. in spite of the raw, rainy weather. The volunteers running registration & bib pickup, course marshals, finish line crew and all others were equally wonderful. They were a big part of why I loved this race so much.
* I could not stay for the after party so can’t comment on that
* overall a wonderful race. I would have loved to see an early start option for those of us marathoners who will likely finish close to the 5 hour time limit, but other than that I have only great things to say about this marathon.

I had participated in the Gate City in years past, both as part of a relay team and as a half-marathoner. This was my first time running the Gate City full, and this was my second marathon.
Overall this was a wonderful race. Bib pickup and expo was the day before. Pickup went smoothly, there were a few vendors, a raffle, and a massage station. Swag was nice, consisting of a gear bag, t shirt, and coupons from local businesses.
Parking was easy on race day. There was water and snack items for runners at the start, which was a nice touch.
Marathoners ran 2 alternating loops, twice each, passing through Main Street at the end of each loop. Directions were clear on the website (plus, GCS had orgainized a bonus “preview” run the week prior), the route was clearly marked, and there were ample volunteers and police to direct runners and control traffic. There were sufficient water/Gatorade stops with porta potties. The course itself was not easy. It was mainly in residential areas, with one portion going through Mines Falls Park and another on the Rail trail. Nashua’s neighborhoods are hilly, some streets are narrow, and there are a LOT of potholes. On top of that, the skies opened up and Mother Nature treated us to a torrential downpour for at least an hour. In spite of the weather, every single volunteer on the course went above and beyond to support the runners with water, fuel, and/or words of encouragement. They were spectacular. This was one race with less crowd support than I’m used to, probably because of the weather there were fewer spectators.
Overall this was a great marathon experience.

My girlfriends and I came from New Hampshire to run this half-marathon, hoping to run in warmer weather than we currently have in New England. Mother Nature had other ideas, however; this was a chilly, rainy race. In spite of this, we thoroughly enjoyed the Celebration Half-Marathon. Bib pickup was easy, and the expo had lots of great vendors to browse. Swag was wonderful: the t-shirt, hat, cooler, bottle opener and medal are great-looking and high quality. As I mentioned, race day was chilly and rainy, yet the race itself was just great. The support was phenomenal: volunteers were friendly and helpful and there were plenty of aid stations with water and Gatorade. The course through the scenic town of Celebration was lovely in spite of the weather; we particularly loved running on the boardwalk portions. Plenty of water and food at the finish line. If the weather had been nicer we would have stayed much longer at the after party. In summary, this was a top notch race with a super friendly vibe and we would gladly travel 1300 miles again to run this race—hopefully in nicer weather next time!

Swag included a winter hat and gloves, plus a sweet pair of running socks for bringing a goodie to the after party. The course is very nice with a couple of hills. Volunteers are all friendly and encouraging. The afterparty at the elks club is lots of fun, plenty of good food and drinks and a relaxed atmosphere.

I have run this half marathon every year since 2015 and I love it every time. The course is beautiful with rolling hills., and is well marked. There’s a fun, holiday vibe and lots of runners dress in adorable Christmas garb. Volunteers are friendly, and aid stations are more than sufficient. The hot cocoa at around mile 10 was a nice touch. The swag is good, we got a nice long sleeved shirt and a sweet medal. Afterparty at the Atkinson County Club is great, plenty of good food and beverages. Always one of my favorites!

This was my first full marathon, and Baystate was the perfect choice for me. The course was mostly flat with some lovely scenic areas; The only drawback was the construction near the finish line, but I know the race officials have no control over that. Support along the course was plentiful; there was plenty of water, Gatorade, and there were also portapotties at each stop. Volunteers and staff were helpful, super friendly and very supportive. The race swag was really nice; I really like my long sleeve tech shirt, and the medal is gorgeous. Providing PR & BQ keychains to those who earned them at the finish line, was a sweet and thoughtful extra. The only thing that I would like to see them improve upon, is food and drink at the finish line. It is possible I was so tired after running 26.2 miles I missed something, but it seemed to me that there was not a lot of food beyond bananas, granola bars, and water…All good things, but it might’ve been nice to see some bagels and peanut butter as well. Overall, though, this was a wonderful race And I would recommend it to anyone who asks.

This was the first half marathon I ever ran, back in 2015, and I will always love it. Yes, there are rolling hills. There is also beautiful scenery, first rate volunteers, and wonderful support stations. Swag is always great for this race…In past years I’ve gotten gloves and headband, arm sleeves, a gym bag and a really nice tech shirt. The medal is always unique and adorable. Very nice spread for runners after the race….soup, cocoa, bagels, bananas, etc. love this race and can’t wait to run it again this year!

I’ve run this as part of a relay team and have also run the half marathon. Well produced run that takes you through the city of Nashua. Well run, great volunteers, aid stations are plentiful. Race swag is great…usually a good quality drawstring bag, shirt, and various coupons/freebies from local businesses.
