My time says it all – two hours slower than my typical time as my feet and brain kept saying hike as I scrambled up rocks on my hands and knees and then walked though miles and miles on sand even though the Pacific Ocean was a few states away and the sand was red instead of white . I stopped to empty the sand out as my toes complained of having to share the limited space with the sand. The views were beautiful and you go past the picture arch. You want to rent a four wheel drive to get to packet pickup and the start of the race. The shirt and medal was good. Same shirt if you did 15k or 50k, They had ultra type snacks as the Sid stations . I could have used a beer at the end as there was no shade on the course . This review is to let you know what to expect and not a knock the race as they had good aid stations and did good job with communication and such

This race was fun and well put on. Our weather luckily was perfect. Being from Texas and not trail runners, we were not used to the altitude and hills. Thank you to the race directors for allowing the longer finishing time. Disappointed in the sizing of the shirts – they were about 2 sizes smaller than what I normally wear. I would definitely come back and do this one again.

Ladies, this race is so worth coming out for! It was my first time ever running an all women’s race, and it was such an empowering experience. Not to mention the course itself was breathtaking! This is an out and back course along the beautiful Colorado River, where you are surrounded by amazing red rock formations from start to finish. Don’t get too caught up in the moment and miss out on some of the landmarks along the route, such as the Jug Handle Arch. I have to admit that it was rough getting up for a 6am race; however, I understood why they did this, as the temperature in Moab at this time of year quickly rises with the sun. They do have plenty of water stops along the route, so no need to bring your own. There are tons of refreshments and goodies to eat the the finish line as well. That was quite a treat! I highly recommend this race for anyone looking for an excuse to visit the area and add on this once in a lifetime tour of the area.

Side note, I appreciated that they offered a choice of 2 different colored shirts at the race expo this year. They also gave you a choice of 2 different race themed crew cut socks. It was a nice touch!

This was an awesome race! Not too big, but enough runners to make it fun. Nice flat course that runs along the Colorado River with beautiful mountain views everywhere. Mad Moose did a great job on the whole race, from communication before to good course support during. I am a slower runner and even though they stated a strict cut off time several times before the race, everyone running was allowed to finish the race, even if slightly over the cutoff, and they even kept all the finish line fun set up and available for the very last runner. Great fun “girls weekend” race. Moab is spectacular, and a great destination race spot. Definitely recommend this race to anyone thinking about doing it!!

We really enjoyed our Thelma and Louse weekend. First time visit to Moab. Spectacular scenery. Race can be run as a half or as a relay. Relay runners would normally be taken to/from the halfway point via boat on the Snake River. The year we ran, the river was too low. So we were passed by cheering ladies on the bus heading back to the start. Some runners camp, we stayed in a local hotel and visited the quaint little town of Moab. There are multiple national parks near by. We visited Arches on the day of arrival and a Dinosaur Museum on our way out of town. Great girls getaway.

This race was one of the most amazing things I have ever done in my life. The scenery was breathtaking and it inspiring to be with so many different women of varied backgrounds and abilities. My constructive criticism would be with the race fee I would expect a chip timed race. More than one bathroom at the halfway point would be nice. The water needs to be upped at the end. A small Dixie cup was not enough after 13 miles in the desert. Overall it was great and pretty organized but considering the cost a few things could stand to be improved for sure. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

This is a really beautiful course to run along the river. The course is relatively flat. It starts early in the morning (6am this year). For the first half of the race, you’ll be in the shade, but it can start to heat up as the sun slides into the canyon during the last half. I love this women-only race. This was my second year running it and I plan to do it again. Maybe next year I’ll pony up and do the full 13.1 miles!

This was hands down one of the prettiest courses I’ve ever ran. Plenty of water/Gatorade stops, really friendly and supportive volunteers, an encouraging atmosphere among participants… and can we talk about the setting again?!?! Flat, easy course. Two of my friends doing the race were first time half marathoners and achieved their desired times and had great experiences. The post-race refreshments and atmosphere was also great. We all really enjoyed this race and hope to do it again!

Miles 5.5 to 7.5 on a bumpy road.
    Fun atmosphere.
    Great swag.
Scenery along the course is awesome.
I am from sea level so the altitude did impact my performance but had a great time and had lots of photo opportunities.
A great race to run with friends and then spend the weekend exploring the Moab area.

Aid stations were perfectly placed! Appreciated Cliff get and two of the aid stations. Loved the Thelma and Louise theme with Louise’s thunderbird being the lead car. Glad we started at 6:00 a.m. because the sun heated up the course quickly. Beautiful scenery! The finishers medal is also a belt buckle..but I will keep it on the ribbon. Loved the characters on the medal!!!! And though this wasn’t my best race for time due to heat and altitude, is was one of the most fun. I did get second in my age group. I will have to say, of all the awards I have won, this on was the most creative specific to this race and absolute best. Fun trivia after the race. Loved the frozen grapes, watermelon, and oranges at the finish. Thank you to all the race directors and volunteers! Excellent!

Just a low key, high energy, fun race to run. Hadn’t run a half in 5 years, and this was the one to do. Course is flat with really well placed aid stations and great volunteers. Super food and beer afterwards. Colorado River as a running partner doesn’t hurt a bit. Hope to return and actually train to have a better showing.

GREAT theme. Swag bag and shirts were nice – Cliff bars too! Little mobile phone service at the parking lot and on the course. Course is all asphalt and flat. It’s cool when you start and hot at the end – heat radiates off canyon walls, road and river. BEAUTIFUL scenery! Excellent hosts. Only about 600 participants this year, so not a big crowd to contend with. Would do it again. Enjoy!

This is the first race Ive ever been in, and has inspired me to keep doing it! Incredible environment- so fun to see so many strong women. Camping right on site was so fun as well! Though we got there late so our tent was set up right next to the starting line. This was a problem when they came to set up the race at 4 am and I was still trying to sleep… But running between the green river and the red rocks was breath taking and made the run extremely enjoyable! I hope to do this run yearly!
