I heard that this was the last year for the Rock n Roll event in San Antonio, what a disappointment. This city was a great host and there was a lot to see and do. The town atmosphere was very festive with lights around town and the holiday music in many places.
Expo was nice, many vendors and great location. The race itself was primarily flat with a few small inclines and declines but nothing too overwhelming. The weather was cloudy and on the chilly side, thankfully no rain. Temperature was right at 50 degrees so overall a good temperature for running. Race start and finish was very crowded. On the course, navigating the crowd kept your mind busy. The best part was going through the mile long tribute to soldiers and running through Fort Sam Houston, that was very inspirational and encouraging.
I would recommend San Antonio as a destination race around the holidays for sure. Thanks RnR for putting on a great event.

Expo was small, but they did offer free rock taping. Overall good race, nice atmosphere just wish the race would have started a little earlier. Walk to start line was a good warm up after a long bus ride that seemed to take forever. The rolling start was a plus, you didn’t have to stand around and could start when you were ready.
The course was scenic and had a good surface of hard packed crushed gravel with the exception of a couple areas. The weather was fantastic, but it did start to warm up as the day went on, the reason I wish it would have started an hour earlier.

This was a bucket list race for my brother. It was a compelling option as we qualified for the “All Roads Lead to Vegas” additional medal, so we committed to making a weekend out of it.
The great thing about the race was that it was a unique experience to run at night under the neon lights.
We rented a car as opposed to using ride share or local transportation and I think that was beneficial. We were able to get places a lot quicker, the only downfall was having to pay for parking, which was advertised as free at the Expo, and we found out that was not the case. A couple other things was that the crowds were enormous and it was difficult to get to your starting corral. One last thing that was not up to expectations was the finish line snacks, (chips, banana, water and the highlight was a hot chocolate) big whoop. Not what I was accustomed too, I was so looking forward to a celebratory beer without paying the exorbitant prices.
All in all great destination race but make sure you save up for it.

Arizona had a cold spell, the race morning was in the upper 30’s but warmed up nice for a brisk morning run. Temps got into the mid to upper 50’s, coming from Montana (-20 degrees) Arizona was nice.
The course was an out and back but was enjoyable. A few hills but nothing too strenuous.
The Expo had lots of selection for souvenirs and was a nice venue in downtown Phoenix near Chase Field. The finish line was a great location and had plenty of space and excitement to celebrate the accomplishment.
Good experience overall

Great destination race, expo was easy and Vacation Races does a fantastic job communicating all the information clearly, even how to remove cacti.
The first seven miles was on rolling hilly road, nothing too steep or long but constant. The next six miles was on similar rolling hills but it was on rocky sandy trail. The finish line was special being able to finish inside “Old Tucson” a movie set and amusement Park.
Great weather, nice scenery and spectacular event!
Time was slower due to lack of training, rolling hills and rocky terrain.

This was my slowest race to date, considering the weather, limited areas to pass, mud and snowy conditions, I was pleased with my performance. The race started out after 9am to a steady rain, then turned to snow just after a mile on the course. The rain/snow continued the whole time out on the course, needless to say your shoes were soaked from the get go and shortly after everything else was drenched.
The course ran through some of the campground and some roads for the first three miles and then went through some nice wooded trails that had puddles and mud and more or less single file trail with many of the trees overhanging the trail because of the wet snow and rain that had been going accumulating for a few days before the race. Personally I welcomed the slower parts because everyone had to walk to get through the tree limbs obstructing the trail. Mile 6 was amazing, North Falls, beautiful. Between mile 9 and 10 you encounter two other waterfalls that you run behind, Lower South Falls and South Falls. Not to mention running along the stream and passing other waterfalls along the way with the fall colors aglow and some white mixed in, it was a sight to see. Just as you climb out of the creek bed and up to the Silver Falls parking lot you have one last climb up and down Nutcracker hill to the finish line. With all the wet weather, going down the hill was really challenging because of the steepness and mud that was present. The finish line was a welcome sight but running through the puddles to get there was a challenge in its own right.

This is the first race I have done more than once, primarily because of the location but most of all because of the scenery and the astonishing medal.
The weather was a little cool at the start but most welcoming for a good run. The course is very challenging with a five mule climb out of the gate but the worst part in my opinion is the slant to the road.
My goal for this race was to beat my time the first time I ran it, to my advantage I knew what to expect. Unfortunately, I did not accomplish my goal primarily because of the lack of training. If I look on the bright side it gives me another reason to do this race again.

Expo was non existent other than a bib pickup and a merchandise tent, no vendors whatsoever. The race medal was great and the shirt was a nice long sleeve. Food trucks at the end was a nice added benefit so overall a nice event.
The course was beautiful as you started running in a quaint neighborhood along the shoreline of Coeur d’Alene Lake and then back through McEuen Park where the race started. After going through the park you continued along the lake past NIC and along the Spokane River and then back to McEuen Park for a nice finish.
The race started in a drizzle but subsided shortly after race start and was a great temperature to run in.

The weather for WDW Marathon Weekend was great, cool in the morning and warmer as the day progressed. Early mornings was something I was told is the hardest thing about doing the Dopey Challenge. The early mornings were just part of the experience, did not seem to have an impact on us.
What was a little dis heartening was the walk to the start line. The 5K and 10K had about a mile walk to the corals and the 1/2 marathon and marathon had a good two mile walk to the corals.
Day 1 – Epcot and Expo
Day 2 – 5K and Magic Kingdom
Day 3 – 10K and Animal Kingdom
Day 4 – 1/2 Marathon and Rest
Day 5 – Marathon and Rest
Day 6 – Hollywood Studios
I was expecting the Marathon on day 5 to be much more difficult than it was but there are so many distractions from character stops, sights to see, running through the parks, water stops and music that keep your mind off of the distance you have left. The miles just seem to add up as you continue without noticing how far you’ve gone. The experience was great and was a lot of fun, but what do you expect when going to WDW.

The start of this race was very inspiring and memorable, they shot off confetti as you passed the start line and it was a great start to an otherwise uneventful race. The course was lacking scenery but what made up for it was the spectator support. Around every corner there were people cheering and encouraging with signs and it is the only race I’ve ran without both ear buds in. I was a little nervous about all the hills that were on the course, but I was pleasantly surprised they did not give me more trouble than they did.
One disappointing thing was that the medals did not come in so the race staff will have to mail everybody there medals, unfortunate but not much they could do about it. Other than that they had great volunteers, food and wonderful atmosphere to run in. The weather was great, a little on the cool side, perfect for running.

Great place for a race, the weather cooperated extremely well. Cool morning and foggy so the sun didn’t peak through and make it unbearably hot. Did not notice the humidity being too uncomfortable either. Ran along a stream and through old country roads with many neat sights and sounds. Finish line was well placed and made for great atmosphere.

This was a difficult race with many rocks and technical spots on the course. Vacation Races did a great job communicating that but as a first time trail run you go in a little skeptical and it was much more difficult than I expected. I still think it is a must do but all the Vacation Races do not disappoint with the rewards and sense of accomplishment that you feel afterwards.

It turned out to be a beautiful day after raining most of the night. The hills were tougher than I expected. I hit a wall at mile 7 and again at mile 11, that may have been because of all the walking the day and week before touring DC and then once in Gettysburg, walking around town and seeing all the monuments, there is so much to see. The swag was great (bag, medal, glass, and shirt was all worth it but was disappointed when the beer was not offered) due to COVID! Just thankful that we were able to run in person!!!

There was no expo, but race atmosphere and production did not disappoint. For a smaller race it had great benefits, race tickets, beach towel and a nice medal to boot. The shirt could have had a better design but who does it for the shirt? As far as the race, can’t beat running around DAYTONA SPEEDWAY and onto the streets to the beach and back. Unfortunately because of high tide we did not actually run on the sand but we visited it the day before during one of the 5K races that was held on the beach.
