This was my third time running this event and each time I find details that will keep me coming back. The city of Fredericksburg really does a great job in supporting this weekend. From pop up aid stations to Jodies being playing on big speakers. All from their homes. Even with the super early start time (minor league baseball game), worked out perfectly due to the heat.

Back to the details. Smooth in and out expo. Easy parking and located in an area with plenty of food options. Raceday parking was too easy. Parking within a mile of the start line made for a nice warmup run/walk. The course fuel and hydration was plentiful. The Marines along the course offering encouraging words and motivation added to the experience.

Overall, this is a Half I would redo countless times.

As a person from the midwest, this race felt like home. I traveled in via a roadtrip and stayed in a hotel downtown within a half mile of the start/finish/expo. This option with the low cost made the weekend extremely relaxing. No stress on any logistics and had the wonderful opportunity of eating at one of my hometown staples, Giordano’s.

Indy offered plenty to do as I went to a WNBA game as soon as I rolled in. The next day I did a bit of sightseeing and checked out a local mall for race weekend essentials. Staying along the canal offered some chill vibes.

Raceday was a bit chilly but a couple coffee shops near the corrals were open to get some warm drinks. Once we got moving it was smooth running. The highlight of the run was the “Gold Mile” and being on the speedway. As a sports fanatic, kissing the bricks were a must!

Overall, this event is one that I would do again.

Ex2 put on a well run event as usual. I’ve ran in their events for the last 5 years. This park is less than 15 mins from my home and couldn’t miss running it again. The trails were in great condition and the weather was perfect. If you looking for good trail running around the DMV area, look no further than EX2 Adventures.

My first marathon in the city that raised me. I have never run an event with such strong crowd support. Expo was easy in and out with plenty of parking with the various lots in the downtown area. Slightly disappointed that I couldn’t get to my prepaid parking in Millennium Garage on Raceday.

Each side of the city was unique and offered so much to the event. Unsanctioned aid stations were the main highlights for me. From keg stands, hugs, petting a dog and even full out line dancing, Chicago put on a party! I would definitely run this again for time and to see how hard I can push myself at the full marathon distance.

DC really came out with tons of crowd support for this event. This might be my favorite event in the district. It used to be the Army 10Miler. Loved the course and ran this like a long training run. Did this after fasting and love the results and how my body felt. All the cheer zones were different and supported by running clubs within the district. District Running Collective had the best cheer zone by far. I need to get with them for some runs.
Packet pickup, pre and post race was so smooth and setup with the runner in mind. I loved this event and will be running it every year.

Maybe next year I can get the family to run the 5K.

The Juneteenth Half and 10K is one of the best events in the DMV! I had to switch from the Half to the 10K due to tiredness from working long shifts but that didn’t hamper my mood. Ran this event for the second time in the last three years. As usual, Corrigan Sports put on an outstanding event with good swag, expos, pre and post race experience. Mission (Esprit De Corps) accomplished! 5K on Day 1 and Half Marathon the very next day. This course is tough with some rolling hills. Made two off course pit stops that cost me about 10mins in time. Had some beer at mile 5. Wasn’t feeling the tequila or vodka that was at multiple spots on the course.

This will be my event every year over the Brooklyn Half. More scenic course and easier logistics.

Half Marathon #26 in the books! I did the Semper Paratus Challenge. A 5K on Saturday and Half Marathon on Sunday. New state added to the list as NC showed some love to runners from all over the world. The Coast Guard Marathon put on a well run event.

Nice flyover at the start, Mimosas at mile 3, ran on the runway and along the base perimeter with good food and beer afterwards. The event was a little short of volunteers which left some intersections vulnerable to traffic. I love smaller events like this because there were no logistical issues. Parking was a breeze and the expo was small but good.

I’ll run this again.

Philly really came out with the love and energy. The run ranks second on crowd support to the NYC Half. Cold and windy conditions didn’t stop folks for coming out. Love the course and organization. Of course I had a couple beers at mile 5ish.

Maybe next time, I’ll have better planning and not go out the first 3 and some change miles at an 9min mile pace. I felt so cold that I didn’t finish my Patriot Challenge of running the 8K about 35 mins after finishing the half.

That’s state number 11 for me and overall Half of 25.
I will be doing this one again in the future.

Great weather for a 10-mile run in the nation’s capital and VA. The Army 10 Miler put on a smooth event for over 28K runners. Top notch event with good swag and good crowd support. Expo at the DC Armory was nice and easy in and out.

I trusted my training and was running good splits. A short pit stop (extra .25mile) to run to a restroom along the National Mall due to long lines along the course.

I’ll continue to run this every year that I’m not doing the Staten Island Half.

The crowd support for this race is second to none. DJs and various running clubs brought so much energy! NYRR production was top notch as usual.

My complaint is the 3-4 miles on Ocean Ave. I’ll rather run along the water or other more scenic portions or Brooklyn. This might be my last time running THIS Brooklyn Half. I’m considering staying local with the Marine Corps Historic Half or running NYC Runs Brooklyn Half instead.

The other issue with this run is getting off Coney Island via rideshares. Two years straight of multiple canceled rides that almost had me miss my late checkout at my hotel. Maybe if I run this again, I’ll stay the extra day to enjoy the post race festivities and beer.

I absolutely loved this course! Mt Vernon to Old Town via the Mt Vernon Trail was a blast! The production was everything you expected and more. Shuttles to the start ran flawlessly and packet pickup at a local running store reminded me why I got into running over 13 years ago. Add this to the many awesome DMV 10Milers. I didn’t stay for the post race party as I had honey-do-lists to complete at the Homefront. Passing on local craft beer is rare for me.

I came into this severally undertrained due to some illness and life. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this event. My first half in Delaware with a familiar race organizer, Corrigan Sports. I’m bias and love all their events! This was part of my Big Freakin Deal Challenge with the organizer. My favorite portion of the race was running along the river in the park. The start and finish location in the park next to the river was a really good vibe. A couple craft beers is always a must and they had those on deck for all the finishers.

Next year I’ll train better and run for a decent time.

Outstanding event by NYRR! My second straight year running this.

I started off way too fast and pushed myself until calf cramps around mile 9 near the United Nations building. I ran the bridge and FDR way too hard with all the inclines. Times Square was a blast and ran that portion with my music off.

This is by far my favorite Half Marathon! The course, production, spectators, and fellow runners (Facebook group is great too).

I’m a sucker for runs with bridges or water. My third time running in this event and the windiest yet. This completed my double after yesterday’s Richmond Half. Corrigan Sports never disappoints as I’ve ran in many of their well run events. Two more Bay Bridge Runs to complete the medal set!

Richmond Half Marathon complete! This was such an overall good event. This run and environment has an Austin Marathon vibe and the neighborhoods came out to support the runners.

From beer, mimosa, whiskey, pickle juice, candy, to everything in between. And yes, I did partake in some of the festivities.

The downhill finish felt great with a big post race party that was too cold with no change of clothes setup.

The Bronx 10Miler was another well run event by New York Road Runners.
First time running this event and enjoyed the DJs placed throughout the course. A nice tribute to Hip Hop considering it’s the birthplace & 50th year celebration.

The weather felt great and the Bronx really came out to support the runners. Yankee Stadium served as the backdrop of the start/finish area with local businesses serving coffee, fruit and sandwiches early in the morning.

Baltimore 10Miler in the books. A little warm and humid with some rolling hills throughout. Felt good and had a good time with the other runners & Baltimore PD. As usual, post race was setup very well with food, drinks and live music. Race #2 of the Kind Crab Challenge complete.

Packet pickup was at the zoo with no issues to note.

This run will be in my yearly rotation.

Beat my goal of under 2hrs!

Rain rain go away…despite the weather I enjoyed the event and NYRR put on another first class run. The crowd support was crazy and featured every genre of music. The hills everyone talked about in Prospect Park was nothing compared to the Hood Hills I run and Rosaryville State Park in Maryland.

Running wise, I felt great and finally figured out my mid-run fueling. I maintained my training pace and clipped more time off from my last Half. I doubt I’ll ever get near my 2:12PR from over 10yrs ago but we can all dream.
Due to the rain, I left and didn’t partake in the post-race festivities.
