This is a mid-size nicely run race. Had ample aid (PowerBar Gel) and water stations. Had pacers and cute swag (tank tops) as an easy enough time finding parking and shuttling to the start. Only thing that is odd is that they have two different starts for the half, not sure why as it’s not a big race, and only pacers for the first group to get sent off.

This race course is designed to be fast, with the first four miles being relatively flat, followed by a gentle downhill for most of the race. This makes it ideal for people who want to achieve a personal record. The race directors from Snohomish have done an excellent job of organizing a small-town race.

Loved this race. My only complaint is that it turns out a fairly flat course can be kind of taxing on the legs in a weird way — no hills made it so I was doing basically the same thing for almost two hours, which was way more tiring than I anticipated. Very chill and low-maintenance — buses from the finish to the start, easy parking, easy check-in, etc. I was antsy and got on the first bus, which left me waiting at the start for way longer than anticipated, but that’s more a me problem than anyone else. Snohomish Running puts on great events if you’re not interested in the weird corporate trappings of a big race like R+R — it was just enough attention without feeling overwhelming or weird. The two start times were great — never left without someone to chase down, but not really crowded at all after a minute or two past the start. Excellent pacers. Will definitely run again.
