The day was perfect, overcast and 60 degrees. This course has a wide variety of scenery: Downtown, Parks, Industrial, and Farmland. Course access is also easy. You can approach racers freely as a spectator and move around without disrupting the race. In general, the course is very flat and fast for at least 90% of the course until the last 5KM where there are hills. The last 2KM there is a steep pathway into the park and then a tough winding uphill climb to the finish line. It is a small event, with only about 150 marathon racers. WHY generally does a great job hosting events and this one was no different. There were plenty of aid stations at good spots along the course. All of the turns had personnel standing by to direct racers.

One of the best coordinated events I’ve attended. Easy parking, well marked pre-race area. Plenty of open space in the athletic field at the start of the race to warm up before hand. Out and back course design allowed you to focus on your performance. Lots of spectators cheering, aid station staff were enthusiastic and helpful. After finishing there are plenty of snacks and drinks as well as a massive pub style burger which is included. Everything was great from start to finish, just a delightful racing experience. I will definitely be attending again in 2026.
