I was absolutely blown away by this race. It is incredibly well organized and attended. I was a bit hesitant at the thought of running alongside 20,000 others, but the lanes were nice and big to accommodate all of us from start to finish. Hydration was never a concern as there were official water/gatorade tables at every single mile, and that doesn’t count the unofficial ones that were hosted by communities and clubs throughout the run.

I have run races in which the half course was packed with spectators and the marathon course was empty, but this was not the case in Cincinnati. When the half marathon splits off at mile 8, the marathoners had just as much cheer stations as before. There is a slightly dull portion where you run on the highway for a mile, but there was still support and hydration stations.

Community organizations and groups gave out bacon! Beer! Mimosas! Cookies! Things that I would not have imagined running with in my stomach, but still fun and energizing to be around.

I will absolutely do this race again and encourage others to do the same.
