Overall, easy run. 5k people run through Knotts Berry Farm. 10k people run through Knotts then out into the city streets. Peanuts characters were there to take pictures with you. Cute finisher’s medal and their famous pies are at the finish line. Decent number of vendors and freebies.

This 5k run in Buena Park, CA starts at Soak City, USA parking lot and then continues through Knott’s Berry Farm and Ends running through Soak City. The 10K version continues on city streets for the last 3.1 miles. It is put on by Renegade Racing and Benefits The Kids of Speech and Development Language Center.
This is my second time doing this run in the last 3 years and both times rain paid a big part. Rain was rather heavy leading up to the race and luckily it stopped just minutes before start never to return.
When your bid is issued you are assigned to Corrals (or Waves) and you are lined up accordingly. Waves get starts every 2 minutes starting at 7am. This is good since there are times the course gets narrow – especially when entering the tunnel under Beach blvd that leads to Knott’s. The course is otherwise flat and scenic as you make your way around the park. There were a few photo op situations for those looking for that. There was one water station around mile 2.
At the finish you are lined up for your medal and a piece of Boysenberry Pie. The expo is better then most with plenty of samples, future race booths, sportswear and other sights as well as more photo opportunities.
Parking is at the adjacent Sears at the Mall which was fine since it is very close.

In 2015, this race was still at Knott’s Berry Farm and I ran it three years in a row! I really liked this race and it was a nice and easy flat course. The best part was you got pie at the end!! My one complaint is that the course seemed to always be short, so although this is my 5K PR at this time, I am not sure I actually ran the 3.1 miles. The scenery is a little boring once you get out of the park, but it was still fun. I can’t participate in it now that it moved to Six Flags – too far.

course is boring, you run by Knotts, but not really through it, and in the 10k you do two loops of the second half of the race around a neighborhood. relatively flat at least and good food and such at the post race including slices of knotts boysenberry pie.
parking is very easy, basically at the start line.
no crowd issues since it is not a huge race
