Four fantastic races. One incredibly inspirational day.
Join us for the St. Luke’s D&L RaceFest as we return four signature events to the Lehigh Valley.
Starting in downtown Allentown at 8:00 a.m.:
- St. Luke’s D&L Marathon
- St. Luke’s D&L Marathon Relay
Starting in Historic Downtown Bethlehem at 7:30 a.m.:
- D&L Heritage Half Marathon Run, Presented by St. Luke’s
- D&L Heritage Half Marathon Walk, Presented by St. Luke’s
All four races will end with a post-race party in beautiful downtown Easton at the scenic confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers.
Both the marathon and half marathon use the D&L Trail for a majority of their courses. The trail follows the Lehigh River for a gentle net elevation drop with fine gravel or pavement depending on the section. Participants can expect a beautiful trail, joint-friendly terrain, and crisp autumn temperatures.
We are grateful to welcome back title sponsor St. Luke’s University Health Network as an advocate for trails and a wellness champion across our region.
Proceeds will benefit Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Inc., a 501(c)3, for heritage and environmental programming as well as the ongoing development and promotion of the D&L Trail. Your participation will move the D&L Trail toward becoming the longest multi-use trail in Pennsylvania, stretching over 165 miles from Wilkes-Barre to Bristol.
Register today for a weekend to remember in the Lehigh Valley!

This half is an out and back, mostly on a rail trail, but there is a section (about 3 miles) that you run on the dirt path the mules used to tow the old time barges up river. Cool concept, until it downpours on race day. This is also where the turn around is, so on top of turning into a mid slick, its also the narrowest part of the course. The technical difficulty of not trying to fall is complicated by other runners coming at you. Its actually kinda dangerous if one were to fall the 6 ft or so down into the canal. Im sure its completely different when dry, and I know the race directors have zero control of the weather, but it presented for a very tricky situation. 3 runners headed out and 3 others headed towards you on a 5 ft wide path of mud and deep puddles is not safe. The actual execution of the race was great though! Packet pick up was quick and easy and parking, although tight, really wasnt an issue. 2 aide station (pass each twice) were well stocked w/ gatorade and plenty of gu gels, and the finish had a great announcer and tons of volunteers. The medal, IMO, wasnt as good as years past, but its definitely not anywhere near the worst Ive gotten. Long sleeve tech shirt was nice too! Id definitely run it again, as long as the weather is dryer!

Really well run race. The shuttle buses back to the start ran smooth. The start is nice cause you are inside a high school gym with heat and indoor toilets. After the start there is a steep down hill, but hold back, cause it is followed by an equally steep up hill. After that, smooth sailing. Be prepared to run alone for long stretches, which is fine by me.
Gorgeous run along the river
Beautiful flat course - perfect to PR Highly recommend. There was a hill the first mile and the rest of course as a slow downhill grade to the finish. MORE

Half marathon on D&L trail follows Lehigh River. Mostly gravel/cinder trail. Very flat! This year they switched direction now going from Slatington to Northampton (prior years opposite direction with big wind in your face). In November so generally cool (30’s-40’s). Well run by staff/volunteers. Very nice tech shirt and lots of food at finish. Very nice course to PR on.
