First, I am not a real runner, but I enjoy the trail races this group puts on. They do a great job with setting up a fun, challenging event at great venues.
This race is tucked into the hills where I believe a lot of hikers and bikers enjoy the hilly trails. Great site!
Lots of hills, lots of nature, and lots of fun.
I would recommend it!

This was my first time doing this race. At first I was nervous about the terrain but once I started running it wasnt too bad. I took my time and enjoyed the race. I participated in the ruck division with my plate carrier. I’ll definitely be back next and will shoot for a better time.
Beautiful and brutal

Buenos abastecimientos, buen ambiente.
good vibes, need more people
it was fun, good vibes and well organize. However, most of the participants were running "short" distance, hope we will have more people next race for the others long run. MORE

I’m a casual runner and had never done a trail run before this one—I signed up last year on a whim. It ended up being the toughest course I’ve ever done, especially for a first trail experience. The first ~0.6 miles are definitely the hardest in my opinion. I love a challenge though, so I had a lot of fun and will absolutely be back for the 5K in the years to come!

This race was great.
The course was challenging with elevation changes and a huge hill at the beginning of each loop. The trail was well maintained and the scenery was beautiful. There were also an abundance of aid stations with selections of ice water, electrolytes, dried fruit, carbs, and candy. I felt so well taken care of, which when you are attending a race alone, is monumental! The runners in the race were also awesome. Everyone was supportive and helpful and just about every person I came across said, “Great Race!” or “Good Job!”
A bit of advice for the runners – the run itself was a mix of runners and run/walkers so if you like to get out ahead of the crowd, I’d suggest getting in front of the lineup as each race starts at the same time and it starts with a large and lengthy hill. It wasn’t an issue overall, and eventually groups spread out to their selected distances and paces (of which I appreciated the variability). Another disclaimer was parking that is an additional $20 from the race entry.
All in all, definitely worth the time!

This is a great course. For the short distances, you have a nice varied terrain with great ups and downs. Longer distances combine 3 loops to make the run interesting without having to spread it over a huge distance.

I ran the half marathon and completely fell in love with this trail race. It has everything — tough climbs, fast downhills, and the perfect mix to keep it fun and challenging. The views are beautiful, and the history of the area makes it even more special. Just less than a mile away is the Oak of the Golden Dream, a historic spot tied to California’s gold discovery. We don’t pass it during the race, but it’s definitely worth a visit afterward. Beyond the scenery and history, what really makes this race stand out are the people — from the runners to the organizers — everyone makes you feel like family.

I signed up early for this one. Signed up for the 28k. Brought back memories of the GritOcr. Recieced email that the course changed. Perfect response from the race director. No problem at all. Ended up being a multiple lap race. My first time doing something like that. Each lap ended up being around 3.35 miles for practically 20 miles or almost 33k 😂. Each lap was tougher and tougher but I pushed through and finished. I actually liked this change.

I had signed up for the 28k Santa Clarita Trail Race back when it was first announced, looking forward to exploring trails I had never run. About a year later, on the week of the race, when we were told that there were last minute permit issues that limited the event to only the 5k Loop, I was admittedly disappointed. My sprawling 28k adventure had just been turned into 6 Lap 30k race around the same 5k loop. However, knowing that the Race Directors at New Global Adventures have never let me down with their other events (Spacerock, VTR, Be The Light), I decided to attend with an open mind. I’m glad I did! The 5k Loop was a wonderful mixture of challenging climbs and long downhill sections that were a blast to run. The 6 Laps introduced an enjoyable element to the mix that I had not been expecting. Running thru the #2 Aid Station at the top of the first big climb became an absolute highlight for me since the Volunteers got to know me by name and felt like my very own cheering squad. They always announced my approaching and were ready to help refill my pack, supply pickle juice shots, or apply ice cold water to the back of my neck and torso with a soaked sponge. I began thinking of the Volunteers at Station #2 as my Pit Crew and the thought of seeing them again helped pull me up that tough climb in the later laps. Descending toward the Finish area was also a highlight each lap. The descent thru a grassy single track was one of the most enjoyable sections of the course for me, made even more memorable by hearing the pumping music of the Festival Area and Terry on the mic yelling out the approach of runners. I got a burst of energy each time I passed thru hearing the few spectators cheering and Terry always had a kind word to say as I passed. That encouragement propelled me into the big climb, and Station #2 pulled me up. I think that having the race forced into a Lap Format was a wonderful blessing in disguise. Instead of simply enjoying a sprawling adventure on new trails, I had the opportunity to really get to know 1 amazing Loop. But more importantly, the multi-lap format gave me the opportunity to interact with the wonderful Volunteers in a way that I hadn’t been able to before. I was able to joke around with the various photographers as I passed lap after lap. Mixing beautiful scenery with beautiful personalities made the Santa Clarita Trail Race an event I’m already looking forward to running in again. I highly recommend it!

This is a 5k loop course, so I did 2 loops. I thought it would be crowded with all the runners, but it wasn’t at all. The trails were wide enough to pass and be passed. I had many minutes on the trail to myself before some came along. It felt more like I was training than at an event. Like all events this group puts on, it was well organized, tough hills, and great volunteers and runners.

I really loved this 5k course. It was challenging but very doable for all skill levels or even as a hike (I saw more than a few people with trekking poles out there!). The scenery was beautiful, the trails were VERY well marked, and it just generally had a good “flow” from start to finish. I would definitely return for another race at this location!
