A few drawbacks: The course isn’t the most scenic but not horrible. There’s an industrial section at the front that’s not great but otherwise it’s ok. The other drawback is the packet pickup is inside the Century Casino which is filled with smoke. You can’t avoid it. Smoke really bothers me, so I really didn’t like having to go in the casino event center at all.

Nice swag: a quarter zip pullover and good quality water bottle. Course was hilly at times. Scenery was just okay. Some nice areas, some service roads with semis driving near you. Almost no crowd support other than the volunteers. But the volunteers were fantastic and very helpful and friendly. Overall a good race.

Overall Rating: Excellent. Hosted by a locally known ultra runner who got it right!

Course Difficulty: A few rolling hills to keep the legs and mind challenged, all paved and good course support,

Course Scenery: Not amazing, but it was a good foot tour of Cape Girardeau, MO.

Race Production: Again, really good. Shuttle buses to and from parking area, excellent finish line support, and wonderful aid stations.

Race Swag: Nice medal, 1/4 zip pullover, and some sweet running socks!

My Performance: I was just getting back into the swing of running, and was going through some ups and downs in my personal life; pleased with the outcome.

Final notes: Well produced race. Considering making this one of my yearly runs.
