Malibu Moves returns to Zuma Beach for its third year this October. The only race in Malibu, this two-day running festival brings together runners of every pace, age, and experience level for a weekend on the Pacific Coast. Saturday features the Expo, Kids Zone, 1-Mile Zuma Dash, and 1K Kids Run. Sunday is race day for the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, followed by a post-race festival with food, music, wellness activations, and community celebration.
The course runs along Pacific Coast Highway with the ocean on one side and the Santa Monica Mountains on the other, starting and ending at the famed Zuma Beach. 100% of the route is along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway making it one-of-a-kind.
The USATF-measured half marathon showcases an out-and-back journey along the Pacific Coast Highway, featuring gentle rolling hills that add an exhilarating twist to your run. The course begins at 27 feet above sea level, peaks at 172 feet, and has a total elevation gain of 345 feet. It has a relatively flat start, a series of rolling hills in the middle, and a gradual descent toward the end. It’s a course that tests your determination and rewards your effort.
All registrations include a finisher medal, event shirt and goodie bag, timing chip, post-race snacks, and festival access.
Malibu Moves also offers a Charity Entry program. Runners register with $0 upfront, commit to raising $500 for one of five nonprofit partners, and receive the full VIP package. Over $110,000 has been donated to local causes through the program’s first two years.

This race is unlike any I’ve done before. There is a very intentional energy. There are people with all different types of goals from PRs to moving and walking with their kids. As someone who has ran 2 marathons, 10+ half marathons and several other races I fell for this one the first time I did it. There’s no elitist energy. There’s hills that you take how you want – run, walk, or dance up them. Movement is the key here at this race!

This course is next level scenic — ocean views, fresh coastal air, and stretches that honestly make you forget you’re even racing (for a second 😅). It’s one of those routes where you catch yourself looking around like, “wow…this is why I run.”
The vibes? Absolutely unmatched. From the runners to the spectators to the volunteers, the energy carried the entire race. You could feel the community the whole way through — supportive, hyped, and just genuinely happy to be out there.
And shoutout to how well this race is put together 👏 Everything felt smooth, organized, and intentional — from start to finish. Aid stations were on point, logistics were dialed in, and the overall experience felt seamless.
If you’re looking for a race that combines beauty, good energy, and top-tier execution… this is it 💯

Highly suggest Malibu Moves Half Marathon in October. While it was fairly hilly, the views and vibes were enough to distract me from the pain to power across the finish line. The expo was great with new brands to explore that I wasn’t familiar with and I decided to make a cute Malibu lunch date out of it.
The course is a stunning view of the California coastline on the PCH with rolling hills that create challenges and reprieve just when you need it. I’m excited to support this race again as many of its efforts will be put toward helping our community rebuild since the devastation of the fires early this year.
It was a fast and fun course which led to my personal PR and I plan to do exactly that again this year!

I ran the inaugural Malibu Moves 5K last year and had the most amazing time. I pushed myself to the limit and unlocked a new 5K PR on this course. What a fun, flat, fast, and beautiful 5K. The race vibes were unreal and I can’t wait to come back in 2025! My favorite part of the race is what it stands for- inclusivity within the run/walk community. And to top it off, this year they will be donating 100% of the profits to support the fire relief and rebuilding efforts. I can 100% get behind that!

I had such an amazing experience during the inaugural Malibu Moves: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon & Kids Run in October! I ran the Half Marathon and while it was fairly hilly, the views and vibes were immaculate and got me through the race and across the finish line. The event was so well done from the bib pick up/expo to parking to the course to the post-race finisher festival – bravo. I am already signed up for next year and can’t wait!

I had an absolutely amazing time at the inaugural Malibu Moves: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon & Kids Run this October! I ran the Half Marathon, and while the course had its fair share of hills, the breathtaking ocean views, supportive crowd, and overall positive energy made every mile totally worth it.
From start to finish, the event was flawlessly organized – bib pickup and the expo were smooth, parking was a breeze, the course was clearly marked and well-supported, and the post-race Finisher Festival was the perfect celebration. You could really tell how much thought and effort went into creating a great experience for runners of all levels.
I’ve already signed up for next year and truly can’t wait to do it all again. If you’re considering it – do it! You won’t regret it.
