The half marathon completes two loops of the same course, which is difficult. While billed “fairly flat,” this course is actually quite hilly. Also, this race is not for the “back of the pack” runner, like me. While the time limit is three hours, they started closing down water stops and the finish line more than 15 minutes prior to the course closing time, which was frustrating. I liked how small the race is, but I wouldn’t consider it beginner friendly.

The half marathon completes two loops of the same course, which is difficult. While billed “fairly flat,” this course is actually quite hilly. Also, this race is not for the “back of the pack” runner, like me. I have run almost 6o half marathons and this was bay far the worst race I have participated in. It started with the race director announcing that thou course had volunteers and not to turn unless a volunteer told you to turn. Volunteers were missing and people were running all over the city. At one point I followed where I saw others running and finally say a policeman and he said “You are back on course now”. At the end of the race almost everyone was running extra miles and laps around local parking lots to make up the missed milage. The medal was a small medal with a sticker on it. The race director did reach out the next week with an apology and offering a free entry to another one oh her races. Not a chance.
