Super amazing runner turn out, lots of folks to this race. A well done production. Well organized, good food, nice folks, well mannered runners. Trail is average, rolling hills, a couple of big hills, more than likely, 6 miles of up hills, 2 down and 2 flat. All types of runners. Lets talk about how to get there, this is located West by Northwest Phoenix, it is about 500 yards directly south of the Phoenix raceway, ( 7602 S Avondale Blvd ) Do not use Race directions, or pin, or link, the 2025 race guide in not accurate. After you pass the raceway go on Indian Springs to Avenida Estrella and turn on that road, it only goes one direction. Lots of parking, lots of camping. Happy trails.

There are not many spectacular views, but the flora of the place is quite pleasant and it does give you a feel of running in the wild west. The race is well organized and the trail has very good markings so you cant get lost unless you are really looking to do so. There is a small section of pavement so I cant say its a 100% trail, but for the most part it is. The finishing area is well stocked with food and beverage so there is plenty for everyone. Overall is a good race to do once as a first 50k or if you are looking to set and break your PR
